FINALLY, after collecting parts for two years, I was beginning to wonder if they would ever get put on the car.
Romped on 2nd gear...in full view of law enforcement, unbeknownst to me.
First question: "What you have done to this thing? Turbo or something?" LOL He mentioned the exhaust being too loud and the 2nd gear stint, but was like "I get it, it's your summer car".
I told him what it was and a little about what I did to it. He ended up letting me off with a "I used to have a Mustang so I get it...just don't do it in front of police."
He must have liked the car. :coo3l:
Today I got done reinstalling the dash only to get out of the car and notice on my garage counter that I had forgotten to put the harnesses for the new gauges in before I did it. Crapola. Gotta pull it all back out again.
Also did my A-Pillar pod and installed the wide band gauge. Hadn't realized it was Memorial Day Weekend, so a few packages I had ordered won't be here till Tuesday unfortunately. Puts piecing the car back together a bit behind schedule. Did take my climate control apart to figure out why a couple of my buttons have never worked. Namely the Econ button and the defrost button, turns out one of the little plastic things slipped and one is missing. Clearly it's been opened before, perhaps for replacing caps? Has a couple small burn marks on the side of the screen..Not a good omen, and not sure what I'd find more of those little plastic pieces. May end up attempting to undertake the Diamante CC conversion. Cost of a used Diamante CC is about 40ish, find one with a pigtail and pick up a transistor for another 40-50. That's 90 bucks plus whatever a manual one would cost for me to mold the Diamante CC into. Less than another 3000GT CC unit would run. Curious if the FTO (which did come with a similar CC as the Diamante) would have the same mounting points/style as the 3000 or the DIamante. Could be worth looking into.
