I dont think I would recommend the pine sol soak, especially with the lifters in the head. I would get some lube on that head ASAP.
-
yeah already did. The head is coming apart for new valve seals but Pine-Sol is safe on rubber. It was pretty awesome how easy the oil stains came off. Do some research on Pine-Sol before knocking it. :)
-
Not trying to knock it. It wasnt the rubber I was concerned about, it was the pulling of all the oils out of the metal that concerned me. But if it doesnt bother you, thats cool. It did seem to clean it up pretty good.
-
I would not have done this unless I was planning to pull apart the heads. Might be a good point to make before someone does this without that intention. :)

After seeing Sin's 'newly blasted' trans from Jack's, I reconsidered applying paint to my rejuvenated tranny- I scrubbed the crap out of it with everything under the sun, & it still looked like hell. We'll just have to see how it holds up.
Before & after....

Took my car into the shop to get the entire AC system replaced... Compressor was going out creating an annoying turbo-like whooshing sound. $1.8k. I hate repair costs on this car...

o2 housing came in the other day. Cleaned up and painted with some black ceramic manifold paint. This is the same stuff I use on my heat-shields. Looks a little better in person. Definitely better than rusty brown look tho :P
