reminds me of gen 3 Viper gauges. Looks good.
w/o compression an assembled shorty will spin over easily.

Even with the heads on I've turned it plenty of times by the crank bolt. That is why the factory put that square hole in the middle that just happens to fit a 1/2" extension perfetly and why they put the hole in the inner fender to access it.
I think the concern is that the bolt will bottom out and crush the threads on the end. Then the crank threads might get messed up when you take the bolt out. The crank that was in my engine when I bought it had screwed up threads.. I'm wondering if that was why.. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like bottoming out bolts..
that is why you use a spacer as I mentioned
I have a stack of washers as dedicated crank bolt spacers stored with the engine stand mounting hardware:)
