I agree with you. The problems most people have with the Gene fabricated Bell intercoolers isn't because of the core size but rather the flimsy unaligned mounting brackets. They could have been done much better.

I ended up having to remove all brackets on mine and weld on new sturdier brackets that allowed me to mount the intercooler closer to the car and slightly further back from front.

I pair of bell cores with slightly slimmer end tanks maybe like the HKS ones would be an easy fit. The gene ones are a really tight fit due to the end tank design.
