Hey there. Old 3si member, haven't had a 3S for quite some time, but that recently changed. Scooped up a 94 VR4 with 46k miles. Good to be back in the family, and thanks for starting this forum. I remember you Alan from the 3si days. Happy to see the community surviving.

Hey all!
I'm Mike - in the western suburbs of Chicago. Anyone here in the area?
Proud owner of a 92 3000GT VR4 in that dark metallic Sandstone Gray. About 103k miles. Everything still pretty much stock except the last owner dropped in a new sound system with twin 15s in the trunk I've since ripped out as it messed with the electrical and drained the battery. 3rd owner with complete records.
Owned a 92 SL in the same color, brand new when it first came out...sold it in 96. Hated myself ever since!
I'm having two challenges if anyone has any ideas:
1) still having issues with the battery draining if sitting more than a couple days.
2) idle is all over the place... I'm jumping anywhere between 500 to 1500+ RPM while sitting...drops into a stall at times also, especially after driving a bit.
I look forward to getting to know all of you!
Mike
You can start a thread on your issues, however, you need to perform a parasitic draw test to determine what is draining the battery. Eric the Car guy has an excellent how to video on YouTube.

For the idle issue it is likely a faulty IAC. You can test it with a multi-meter to determine if it is faulty. Jeff has a good write up on it on stealth316
