LOL true i just dont see how anything could possibly, make its way around the splash shields and somehow up near the tb. I actually went and picked the covers up and they do weigh nothing HAHA. Still see no use, my car only sees nice smooth pavement and no bad weather.Quote:

Yes its almost completely bs-less still has abs(for now), battery in the bay, unnecessary wires, reservoirs and the fusebox needs relocation. But my pulley setup is my favorite no tensioner, idler, or ac compressor, just alt to crank, then crank to ps. Makes it extremely easy to work on. Dont regret it at all.
yep. wires along the passenger strut arch are one of the worst crimes left.
I don't know how much timing belt covers prevent dirt and debris.. I'm sure they do to some extent. It's one of many purposes they serve though. A guy could daily drive without them and get away with it I'm sure.. Maybe you go 5k miles, maybe you go 60k miles without a problem. All it takes is a fluke chance thing like a wire coming loose/unhooked or a belt breaking and getting caught in your timing belt and bye bye engine or at the very least a complete head job. Not to mention it's a safety thing, the cam gears and timing belt spin very fast and maybe you aren't thinking and something gets caught. Or maybe the timing belt just happens to break when your under the hood and the engines running. Who knows. My point is accidents happen, and they aren't always planned. I'm not putting my engine or safety on the line for lack of timing belt covers thats for sure. The manufacture put them in place for a reason, if they were completely useless and didn't serve a purpose they wouldn't be there. This is just my .03 cents.

That makes sense i guess they do have a function after all. You can now sleep easy they are back on. :rolleyes: LOL. I see the point you are all trying to make. I guess ill just pull them off everytime i want to check the tb tension. I do that everytime i check the oil. But their back on and thanks for the replys. / back to the pics lets see some engine bays!
