If it were me I`d be tempted to dress the piston damage (very light use of a small die-grinder), but be prepared for a possible engine failure at some point. Removing the sharp edges would significantly reduce the chance of hot-spots and detonation.
You can lightly hone the bores with the engine still in the car if the worst came to it and you went for another set of (none oversized) pistons.
