Hey Lori, Alan and everyone else,
I am very sorry to have come across as me gripping, I was just merely trying to get clarification on things that seem to be lacking in information. I 100% know that NG is not set up for Profit and that all costs go into the event. I never questioned that and I'm sorry if it came across that way.
I did reach out to Alan in Feb via Facebook asking for more details and stating that the site was missing a lot of info and that it still had stuff from 2014 left on it. I didn't go into as explicit of details as I did here as Alan stated details were coming so I waited.
The only thing I was trying to bring attention to is that most of the information that has been relayed out is spread out through various threads, some is even on the other forum and most of that information is not on the website. Details on the road coarse are an example. I was merely trying to get all of that information centralized onto the site where it should be so that everyone has a single point of reference that they can be pointed to for their questions.
I know you work long days, hell I myself am pulling 18 hour days between my day job and my business so I know exactly where you are coming from. Even with all of that I am willing to do what I can to help make this an awesome event.
What I'll do tomorrow is go though all of the stuff I have seen posted and build out a supplement doc to consolidate all of the information that has been given out up to this point. I'll email it over to Alan so he can go over it and add in that information to the site as needed. Alan, if you need help making content updates to the site let me know. You know I'm more than capable working with online content. I can also assist in any type of online marketing you guys need.
Again sorry if I stirred up a ruckus, it was not my intention... :(
Thanks, Greg. I appreciate that. And i, too, am sorry if I'm overly sensitive right now. I have some REALLY serious stuff in my personal life. I wasn't kidding when I said I shouldn't even be able to do this right now, but somehow it's happening... Beyond that, I'm having some medical issues that have caused me to take medications that cause depression. JUST PERFECT. So if that somehow affected my response, I apologize. If you're willing to help that much, then I'm sure we can find a way to make this happen on our end... I'm sure you, and others, can understand that when you're at your wits end and completely overwhelmed with everything, having someone tell you a laundry list of things you should be doing is enough to drive you right over the edge. While I am one who always appreciates constructive criticism, that was just really bad timing, and you had no way of knowing that.
As for talking to Alan in February, I, unfortunately, had absolutely no knowledge of that.
Super levity fail on my part. :13: I guess no one caught my reference to this (approx. 48 seconds in):

So my apologies for coming off as impatient, honestly not my intent. In all fairness I did not know if the committee would have answers to any of my questions but given all the back and forth that was occurring without a simple acknowledgement I wanted to make sure the questions didn't get lost or overlooked in the fray. So just to be clear I'm not complaining, you guys have picked an amazing spot for us this year.
And as to the why of the mechanics questions regarding the Touring Sessions upgraded into Beginner Road Course Sessions, the questions are for the benefit of a new attendee I am hoping to bring along. He wants to drive the road course so I just wanted to be sure I could fully layout his options for him. I suspect he will just sign up for the Beginner Sessions but just in case I thought I should ask, especially since other people will probably want to understand this as well.

New ARP extended wheel studs + Hardened Steel Lug Nuts = That sh*t better not happen again
I just finished the doc and shared it with Lori, Alan and Bridget. I went through all of the threads, posts, etc and consolidated it all into one place. All three of you have edit permissions to make whatever changes you guys need to make or add to it. This should cover everything that have been brought up to this point. It's 5 pages worth of information.
Some of it may have changed since some of the information was posted almost 6-7 months ago....
If you want you can keep the doc posted where it is and I can generate a link to it that can be shared out with everyone/everywhere as view only. That way you all can make changes to it on the fly whenever you need to and the link will always be good. that way the information stays fresh and localized and no need to worry about having to go into twenty different places trying to get information updated etc.
Lori, Alan, I paid the early track fee, but I was wondering if I went and paid the track fee again as part of my registration, would that help much in getting the full course? Maybe a couple of others who aren't as financially strapped might consider doing the same? I can see that this may be our one and only chance to get to use this track (like the Indy pace lap was a one time opportunity) and it'd be a shame to get all the planning and everything done, but not be able to run the full course.
Tom, it's entirely possible that we could do that. It is a VERY expensive facility, and just the west portion was a stretch for us without making it out of the reach of most. However, I'm not entirely comfortable having people do that... How about this...
Let's see where we are with registrations May 15th. I HIGHLY doubt anyone will be renting just the east track. I'm not sure it's even feasible for them to rent both halves separately, so we shouldn't have a problem getting it later on. Let me see how things are going. We're expecting a much larger turnout for this event based solely on the location, so if we have the money I have no qualms about getting the full track. IF WE DON'T, I'll make a post and let people know. Is that fair enough? I don't want to take it away from anyone, but I also don't want people to donate money they we end up not needing it and have to figure out a fair way to deal with that. If that doesn't make sense, please give me the opportunity to clarify. I've come down with a cold, so I have a very fuzzy head... :(
Levi, your questions were very fair and just. Unfortunately, I'm afraid I did miss the reference. I did, however, know with no doubts whatsoever that you weren't griping about the event. I just thought you were being a bit impatient, especially since you know a little of what my life is like and the kinds of hours I can end up working. I'm relieved that wasn't the case. Also, you still haven't received an answer about the insurance. The answer is... I have no flipping clue. :) But I'll get an answer when I'm up to it. I hope my response regarding the touring session vs. beginning session was clear. I will handle this as fairly as possible. And I'm always open to suggestions. As you know, we've never done something like this before.
In the meantime, I'm happy to answer any and all questions that I can, as I can. I know there are many for this event. This is, by far, the most impressive track we've ever been on, and perhaps the most impressive we'll ever be on. And, as Tom said, it is most likely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I really hope everyone can take advantage of it.
Are you trying to say this isn't your normal work day:

Sounds good on the insurance thing.
And I understood the response on the Touring Session upgrade, and I would definitely agree that a person isn't losing out if they miss a session or two of the beginner run group for a touring session or two. However I think understanding the mechanics of the upgrade is something people will be interested in, and having the process defined will only serve to help things run smoothly the day of the event.
BUMP! We're now less than TWO MONTHS from NG15!! NCM is by far the most amazing course we've ever been on. The skid pad we'll be using for AutoCross is the largest one yet, and the drag races will be held at Beech Bend, which is also an amusement park! What more could you ask for? There will be some time off for fun (Nashville is only an hour away), so this is a perfect year to bring the family. Hurry, hurry! Online registration ends on June 1st! If we have enough people sign up for road course before the deadline, and if the track is still available, we'll extend to the full track. Whether we do that or not, you will NOT be disappointed in this one.
Worried about trying road course for the first time? This year we've introduced the Touring option. These laps will be done at a slightly slower pace, with no passing. It's the perfect opportunity to try the track, try road coursing, and not worry about "being in someone's way." If you decide you like it, the option to upgrade to full road course will be available on-site.
See you in 59 days!
