The Spyder is back from paint

$700 TOTAL for the paint and buff?

If that's so, I'm moving to Waverly...

It cost me more than that for my hood and two front fenders earlier this year (my oldest dropped a jackstand on my hood which bounced off my passenger fender....the drivers fender had a couple of nicks, so I had them do it to....kinda local place....small shop..they won't get another one of my cars there again...long story...)

Thanks Bob. We really got a good deal. But we also know the owner as they have worked on the Challenger and did some paint work on the 94. We also let them use the Challenger in a commercial they made for their shop. He was sincerely sorry about the car getting water water too, not just one those "I'm sorry" but don't really mean it. I have no problems bringing any of my vehicles down there in future if need be.

It took him (the owner of the shop) almost an hour and a half to put the decals on, and he did that at no charge. He also wanted us to be there to make sure it was done right. We bought the Mitsubishi decal from Cherry Hill. But the Spyder VR4 emblems was the repro made by Frank. They came with no adhesive or "cover sheet". So he used the emblem adhesive stuff and cut out all the excess and used green tape to make sure the spacing was right.

I still can't get over how wet that paint looks! I paid $1,300 for mine and it came back looking worse than before it was painted. There were scratches in my paint that I couldn't even get out with 800 grit wet sanding.

Excellent price for what looks like top quality. My boss paid $4K for a full repaint with body work on his 69 Firebird :eek: but he did get a complete sanding and polishing. You guys really did it right :D

Very nice. I really like the smoked taillights.

That came out amazing! You got a HUGE steal on the cost of paint, too. I got 2 estimates on my coupe for filling the AA spoiler holes, painting the hatch, and painting the sails/roof black. And $1,500 at both places! Can I borrow your painter(s)? :D

Thats pretty cheap for a classic car. I have a relation with a shop, and they had one guy spend about 47 grand on his body and paintwork on a 67 GTO convertible. He kept wanting stuff redone because he is a perfectionist. He was very happy to spend the money on it too, i thought it was pretty crazy. The car looks awesome though. A typical old car will run you at least 4-10 grand these days.
