and the 3.5 will spoolup larger turbos like the 16gs on 3.0. Hard to resist. Although 16gs on 3.5 will spoolup faster.

None are really that hard to change in the car, just need to be careful and patient.
It's true. All the bearings can be changed with engine in car. Ask Adam, I am pretty sure he has done it in his driveway on his back with car only on jackstands.
Patience is the key.

The main bearings are somewhat hard and a little risky to do with the timing belt still tensioned. It is not that easy to roll out the upper 1st main safely.
yes, of course it can be done, I've done it a couple times, but don't get the impression that it is an easy task. In this case I feel it isn't worth the risk seeing how good the rod bearings look. I'd rather run this motor and couple years and get a pampena block later than mess with it.
I always figured it wouldn't be and easy task .
I'd rather do bearings in-car than valve stem seals if that gives you an idea of the difficulty. Gump is right - main bearings with the timing belt on is a fair bit worse. Ive only done that once or twice (my car). But ive replaced ~15 sets of bearings in cars from all over texas and oklahoma since '04. You need lots of gloves and patience.
I'm following the mtc builds closely for sure.

You should have your 16Gs upgraded to Stage 2 billet MTC TD05s. Tq and hp curves on a 3.5L are nearly identical rpm for rpm up to 600AWHP/600AWTQ compared with a 3.0L DR-750 setup except the 3.5L Stage 2 setup pulls away after 600 making much more power. Spool wouldn't feel exactly the same as the DR-750s but the power down low is the same which would mean traction issues in 1st and 2nd lol. I think that would be an awesome setup.
I'm already almost bored with the Devastators. It'd definitely fun and everyone that rides asks me how it gets old, but I guess that adrenaline rush from a first time pull at a newer/higher power power level is way too addicting unfortunately. Lol. If my time allows I will be putting in the 3.5L stroker, DR Stage III heads, DR-950s, 272 cams, UR gears, billet oil pump, IPS race pan, Quaife diff, SCE center diff, CFDS, billet subframe bushings, flashed ECU, TGE dual pump hangar, Pampena fuel rails, SX AFPR, fuel pressure/oil temp/water temp/oil pressure gauges, BAP, and probably a bunch of other things I'm forgetting that are sitting around in storage because I'm still collecting supporting mods back from selling most of my bigger setup 2 years ago. Between not having all the parts including a few expensive $2k+ items, not having time, and wishing it was a simple as my stock motor/Devastator setup I hope I will get it done next winter.
So far I couldnt be more disappointed by freight quote / pilot freight services / action freight.
I scheduled pick up for tonight between 6 and 10 via freightquote. Left work early to be home by 6. Called freight quote to see what was going on. They tell me that pilot showed my shipment as picked up. A minute later they tell me pilot tried to call me (they didnt) and stopped by but I wasnt home (what was the 4 hr window for?)...
So I call pilots local carrier (action) and the shipping number I have is useless to them so I have to call pilot directly to get the fucking pilot number. Then I call back action to find out that they wont deliver after 6 pm.
At least I talked them out of needing some form declaring there were no fluids in the block.
So. Fucking. Stupid.
