Um, I think we are talking about 2 different things... the "reservoir" is the vacuum tank that's bolted on the subframe in front of the transmission. Deleting it is as simple as unbolting it and capping the vaccum line that runs to it. Its purpose is to maintain vaccum for the clutch vacuum assist while the car is off. I think wingnut is talking about deleting the vacuum assist altogether, which would make the clutch much heavier (unless your vacuum assist didn't work already, like mine).
-
My vac assist works, but it leaks. So I removed the vac hose. Heavier pedal but still manageable on stock clutch.
I'll be installing a Spec 2+ here soon so I may have to hook the vac assist back up if the pressure plate is that much stiffer.
-
My vac assist is completely dead, and I noticed zero difference between the stock clutch and the SPEC stage 2. Both were heavier than the RPS Maxx (AFAIK the heaviest PP available for our cars) in my 95 with a working vac assist (or the SPEC stage 3 or stage 4 in friend's 3Ss). Unfortunately my SPEC clutch only lasted about 20K before part of the kevlar melted and stuck to the pressure plate...

My stock clutch was a bit heavy as the vacuum assist did not do much at all. I still may cap it if it does nothing by removing the canister, and lines. Actually the SB 4fe feels lighter than the stock clutch did, but that may be due to possibly needing more adjusting.
Basically remove the canister, and hard lines, but for the line connected to the clutch master. Cut that line just after it passes behind the brake master. Remove the soft section at the Brake mater, and install a new piece of large vac line to loop around to the cut hard line.
This is what I went off of. http://www.3sgto.org/3000gt-stealth-...reservoir.html

Do not forget you NEED the one way valve hose connected so boost does not enter the system.

wonderful hell, everything looks so clean. i'm having thoughts.

Well great news! I got the starter all hooked up, and found the shield/installed. Transfer case installed! Slightly disappointing news, I got the wrong missing bolt from mitsu. Ordered the short, needed the long. The Beard haz one coming in the mail right behind the oil cooler hopefully.
OK, I'm movin along now. Next up the exhaust! Down pipe here we come. Gather the proper bolts, slather the copper anti-seize on, and am all ready for lift off. :( Missing the front gasket... Hmmm, looking around for a stray beer (they exist), when I spy the cat back! Woot I can use the one off the Y till I get to NAPA.
Then F@CK! SH!T! PI$$! :Dismal::Sobbing::cry::Sobbing::mad4:
Pics uploading...

So I throw up the down pipe, looselyattach the front nuts, and go to the rear to see this!

I think I can double/tripple gasket it, or try to find a spacer somehow. :sad:
