Had a 92 VR-4. Used to hang out on 3si back in the day.
Looking for a Yellow VR-4 Spyder!
Hello All,
Finally pick up a Stealth, a car that has been on my wish list for many years. It is nearly dead stock with the exception of the wheels, and in general pretty good condition and mostly dealer serviced... though I am not so sure that is a good thing as the 60K was done without replacing tensioner, pulleys or waterpump, the belt was loose and the timing was 2 teeth off. - Yes I did correct all this. Not too bad a job with lots of working room compared to a 6bolt swapped 2G Talon. Once that was done, we found significant boost leaks at nearly every coupler, and then replaced Bosch Platinum plugs that were way past due even though the dealer parts showed they were less thank 10000 km old. Fixed a couple other minor things like 3 broken wired to the drivers door connector, and replaced the power antenna mast.
Now the fun begins. To come or already on order, WBO2, boost controller, Vacuum hose delete, exhaust (suggestions for best downpipe?), new ECS Struts, Tein S or H springs, Cloned ECU, Evo Injectors and possibly turbo's... Just to keep up with the kids Talon... Oh yah... I am supposed to be doing a ground up rebuild on the Barracuda too.
Howdy, I've been an owner of my 97 sl for 10 years now , and I'm sorry to say its time to let her go.
10 years, thats longer than most. She just not do it for you anymore?
Looking for a VR-4 in Aus...
I just bought my son a 96 3000GT SL. He's 16 and lucky to have a dad that's an auto enthusiast!
I owned a 94 Stealth RT back in 2005 so I'm somewhat familiar with these but as with all forums it will help to join a group and see what's going on.
One of the first things we want to do is lower and I already see that's not as easy as buying springs being it's a 96 power sunroof model so right off the bat I'm researching that.
Glad to be here.
