New here, happy owner of a 1997 3KGT Base with the 5 speed manual. Car was given to me by my dad two years ago before I even had my actual license yet and not just a permit, he owned the car since it was new. The car was daily driven from about 97 until 2006 when it found its home in the garage and remained there until December of 2012 when I took ownership and have done so much in maintenance and repairs that every car eventually has. At the time of this posting, I have just begun to replace both head gaskets because I had a weird issue where oil was leaking OUT of the head.

That's definitely an issue of the SOHC. That happened on my original engine (blew it at 150k miles), and it's happening again on the replacement (has around 120k on the replacement)Quote:
