today i gave ani a nice thorough washing, it was beautiful out. vacuumed the interior, or whatever is left of it..
-took her for a drive
-took a quick corner
-heard a new clank after the corner
-ani decided that we should change the rear end's fluid
-jacked her up
-raised my fake coilovers for the drive tomorrow. hopefully.
drive safe everyone!

Today I got done a lot more than I had expected to.
First thing this morning I ordered a whole whack of parts from 3SX and STM.
WRX 3" MAF
Kevlar timing belt
New Stainless Y pipe that I will be modifying to work with the MAF
Engine gasket kit
ABS delete kit
Braided clutch line
AEM wideband o2
After that I wasted three hours trying to find a damn starter for my Soarer...
Then I began working on my engine some more, I polished up some more of the brackets, lines, and bolts. Painted a couple of things, and made up a game plan for when the car can be put in the shop.
Purchased a new engine. Finally got a 4 bolt.
I found a deal on a 4 bolt in the classified area.
I just wanted a it to go with the 16g td05 kit I have. With a 4 bolt I have a little more peace of mind if I decide to go past the 550hp to 600hp range.
sounds great....but you won't run into problems until you pass the 700whp mark. and that's probably pushing the limits on 3.0L with 16g's. only reason i got a 4-bolt was for a stroker. only reason i'm going with a stroker is because my 2-bolt has a cast crank. if it didn't; i wouldn't give a flip. i'm also shooting for the 550-600 range; but i'm not going to tune to the edge. 1 count of knock on pump & then turn down the boost 2 psi; and i'll never touch it again.
p.s.
what i did today was install the greatest looking stock tt plenum in the history of this platform.
And what did I do to my VR4 today? Removed the clutch off vacuum, as the master has developed a leak and was making my idle high.

I picked up my two car 3S car hauler in palm Springs and moved it to San Diego and stopped by dmv to register it.
My 3.0 is a 92 2 bolt. It's in excellent condition with only 57k. I just don't feel comfortable pushing it hard. I'd rather it go to someone that can cherish it at stock to moderate levels.
I ended up up with a brand new built motor.
I finally started going on the quad pod again, hopefully to have it finished by Monday.
If you're rockin' some ARP's isn't the 2 bolt just as tough to a degree?
not even close. :)

props to april (dbest). it's shaved (now has ghost text) and matches my front valve cover. :D
... So that's what the engine bay looks like with something in it :suspect:
I just got done removing the exhaust, driveshaft, tcase, starter, and drained the oil that only has ~20 miles on it so that I can prepare to replace my oil pump while its all apart for new cam seals. I swear, the smallest jobs always turn into huge projects on this car.
99 lash adjusters are no better than 91. Same size oil feed hole. They are just newer and cleaner. Clean your 91's and you are good to go. It's what I run. They are less prone to throw rockers if they pump down than the aftermarket 3rd gens. Been there done that.

I ran her night before last, hit 60mph in 2nd before I was even close to an 1/8th of a mile down the road. Let out around 75 in 3rd. It was fun. :D
Started it and let it idle for a few minutes, then gave it a few hard revs to blow any condensation out.
Replaced faulty tachometer with working unit from spare cluster I had, and also installed Momo Millennium 'GTO' edition steering wheel with quick release boss kit ;)

Put the seats in it today. Got the leather from leatherseats.com
Just pulled my rod caps and found two of them had begun to spin. No copper yet, but crank is pretty gouged. Not very happy about it. Trying to decide whether to part it or sell it. Keeping and fixing it isn't really a financial option right now sadly.
Maybe Ninja meant internally, possible the hole inside is smaller eventhough at the top it's much larger? I've never had an issue with it so I'm not sure.
Where did you pick up the MOMO? I looked around awhile back and it was pretty expensive to switch over so I stuck to my black one I got from the 99.
Oh and for the Spyder I continued my endless search for a replacement Blitz type 03... Out of stock and discontinued.

It's an $80 ebay knockoff, the real momo millennium is $400 or something. Thats why I had the custom GTO horn emblem made because it lacked the authentic momo emblem. Definitely worth the money as it's very close to the original. It also appears 'GTO' factory standard now.
