Are things still on for the 9th?
What is the weather looking like for your local track? Is it Gateway Motorsports Park? If so, 63F and sunny is the forecast!

Yes still on, well I am planning on going. Not sure about anyone else
I hear you. With things like this you always get a big gathering of people who are "interested" in going, then one by one they all drop out. Next thing you know it's just you at the track!
I experience the same scenario with local guys and attending the NG.
Alex
Most likely it will just be me and my woman. Either way shouldn't be a bad visit.
um ok

I plan on going. I am interested in getting a few passes in my car before the track closes for the season. My numbers from the NG were pretty sad compared to what I ran in NG11 so I'm hoping some slightly lower temps might help me out.
And there is a Drift StL event going on and I would like to discuss some stuff with them regarding my AE86.
In for the results. Enjoy the car Boozer, thats all that matters.
You can PM him, his current name on here is "Corpulent Hooker".
Well today was interesting.
Results?
Ran a stock 3s time. Like from the factory untouched time lol.
Only got three passes in before I had to leave for work.
First run was 15.319 @ 93.02mph. I missed two shifts , 1st to second and second to 3rd.
Reaction time was .768 and 60ft was 2.331
Second run was 14.330 @ 97.54mph
Reaction time was .301 and 60ft was 2.149
Third run was 14.173 @96.95mph
Reaction time was .261 and 60ft was 2.117
Soo if I were to of had a 1.6-1.8 I would have been in high to mid 13's
Didn't happen lol. But either way, I have only ever seen this car street race never down a drag strip.
Lol at least you tried.

And guys have ran into the 10's with stock z06's (c6). Factory freaks exist and a good driver is worth a half second or more.
From the phone.
Not to mention, today was the most drive time I have had in this car. Thanks Forest yea no way I was gonna not show, now I just know what had to be done. More POWWAAAAA!!
And thanks Nate, saved me from having to say it.
So you are saying boomer suck at driving? :D No factory freak here. LOL I just dove it the way it should have been. That was my first time ever to run at the track. I remembered now when I raced a z28 a while ago my stock 93 actually beat it by a fender, but I had a massive spark blow out because of the new spark plugs I put in ( I didn't know shit about cars back then and I bought a 4 point spark plug lol) and the car wouldn't have reved passed 4k rpm and I still beat it. I must say though my car had about 60k miles on it so it was pretty healthy.
A stock 3s running 14.1's has someone behind the wheel who doesn't know how to drive.
Not in the 13's.
Vira's was mostly stock and trapping 95 mph I think.
I am 70hp over stock and only doing mid 13's at NG.
From the phone.
Except the NG was in July on a hot humid day.
Quit being a douggie downer.

and cold track doesn't grip worth a shit either, which hurts 2wd a lot.
Ya know...I'm finally going to say something. Maybe, just maybe, the reception from everyone wouldn't be bad if firstly this thread was in the "Other Platform" section and second if the OP wouldn't have acted all butthurt when everyone didn't automatically agree that LT1's are the fastest/best cars out there. Seriously if Boomer just wanted an ego stroke over his new firebird, there are plenty of forums for that.
Instead, he got all butthurt and posted a crazy claim that his car roasts VR4's, which got us right back to here, and then he runs a time that nobody was surprised about, and now you guys are all apologizing for him.
Edited for poor spelling cuz it's early.
Seriously, the tone of this thread is entirely the OP's fault.
My bad. Sorry dudes.
Well it ran what everyone said it would. Again foot in mouth scenario.
The good news is that it ran what everyone thought it would. This means its healthy and you didnt buy a worn out turd.
True, but it still needs a lot. Maintence wise. And I will be working on that first then performance second. Maybe next year I can hit the track and run a better time. As for now, it is what it is.
No apology. I speak in facts and figures. Not all stock VR4's run low 13's every day of the week. That means it's completely possible for an lt1 to beat a VR4.
If you don't agree, I guess it's also impossible for an NA to beat a turbo, because we are only considering perfect conditions, and my car ran a 12.8. Just not on THAT day, lol.
low 13s on a 100% stock car requires perfect conditions and a brutal launch. Everyone turns the boost up so fast they forget that a vr4 is a mid to upper 13s car bone stock.
Everyone also seems to forget that when it is 50 degrees outside a turbo car is going to run a ton faster than the 90s we typically see at the gathering. Especially on pump with 20 year old intercoolers.
That isn't bad boomer. My old LT1 car ran 14.2@98 /w a 2.2 60' when it was stock. Albeit it was an auto, with 2.73 gears, and had 15k-20k miles on the clock at that time. A 14.1 isn't too terribly off. IMO you should change your mod list just slightly. Bump the shifter up to #1, because the stock shifter suuuuuuuuucks. Then the skip shift eliminator, which I'd be surprised if your car doesn't already have by now.
Although you might want to revamp your 60' estimates. Its a little trickier to get an F-body out of the hole hard. You need the suspension, tires, and lots of power. For example: I had pretty much all the bolt-ons done and added in a 3200 stall torque converter and 3.73 gears, but the motor was still all stock. I ended up running a 12.9@104 w/ 1.77 60'. The converter was a little large for a stock LT1, but it was way better when I added a cam to the car.
That all comes with a price, because the stock 10 bolt rear end is a mix bag - and the bag is mostly full of "bad." 6 speed cars have enough power to break the rear end with ET Streets or other sticky tires. Autos are a little easier on the rear end, so they last longer. Either way, they're a ticking time bomb. Mine hung on by a thread, and I knew a local LS1 guy cutting 1.48~ 60's on his.
Anyway, hit me up at Doug's party and I can steer you clear of some of the minefields of LT1 ownership.
Hell yea thanks man!!!! Yea I am thinking about going with the pro 5.0 shifter. Skip shift is still there and has been annoying me lately. But I will deff see and talk to you at the party! Thanks man.
Update?
