I forgot to address this post. I purposely held the brace off the bottom of the case for this reason. There is about 3/32" room in a 4" path that oil can travel.

What temperature is that coating rated for?
I will post info when I find it again. It is 1800* coating though.
@ 1685* tested by Ford on a 6l powerstroke
3% more effective at preventing heat loss compared to heat shields.
186* less at 1.5" vs heat shields

With the meth you shouldn't hit that temp, without you may. I do.
From the phone.
Hopefully the coatings won't wear off too easily :) I had bill take the turbine housing for my 6266 with him.
Small update, as the Mrs has kept me Honeydoing the past three days. Damn garden!
Got her welded up

Fuel pump hanger is ready for assembly, and install. I had to weld the feed, and nut, O-ring, and epoxy the return. No room for welding between them.

Oh, and I am not sure what UPS has going on vs USPS, but shipped lcdbc back to Antero for an update, and UPS is charging a $60 brokerage fee!?! USPS does not. Apparently the high school student that took my package at the UPS store had trouble discerning the word value, and transaction. So now I will have $100 in round trip fare for a box that is 3"x4"x2".
FU!
people swear usps is bad and blah blah blah, but i use them 100% of the time. never had an issue, always tracks packages well, and ALWAYS the cheapest to deal with. i havent had a problem, maybe i am lucky?
Never had a bad experience with usps. Bought countless things from vendors or members and had them all shipped international freight with usps not a single loss not even any real delays. Fedex and ups are just far too expensive.

UNITED STATES postal service! they dont deliver to the land of the roo's!! :)
Anything out of the US goes USPS for me, anything else is like 2-3x the cost.
Jason
i had mine welded in the other way around. Mine has the beveled edge down.

Pics on Pampena's site have it installed with the bevel down.
coop has the brace on the rite way, the beveled edge is there to create a "valley" so that when its welded it has more material connecting it and is stronger

I guess they face it down for a reason, being they have more experience with this than i do. I thought that the beveled edge served the same purpose as chamfering pipes/tubes before welding to ensure the weld penetrates properly.

The chamfer is probably there because when the brace is put on and it sits all the way down on the case, the case is not a 90* angle where it holds the bearing. It's rounded. So I'm sure it's chamfered so it can sit flush if need be. Because Bill got it welded up off the case for oil flow, it won't make a difference. I'm not sayin lifting it off the case is smart/not smart just that in this situation it shouldn't make a difference on which side the chamfer is on
Well Brandon (tycobb43) came up with influential motivation. (Beerz) :lmao:
I got the pump hanger all together, and installed.

Front bar end links are the $16.56 Diamante Moog links. Much beefier than the $45 oem links! Upgrade in quality, down grade in price! How often can you find that? I used them instead of the heim joints that came with the sway bar. Grease-able, and dust caps. ftw
Those damn sway bars are a lot larger than oems! Can't wait to test them out in the corners...
Good progress today!
It takes time. Ask me how I know. :)
Wow, Looking great :)
Subbed
Just remember to check clearance to axles throughout suspension travel. Really my only beef with my front bar.
Will do Chris, thanks.
As Brett said they are the new Addco redesign. Installing was pretty easy with 2 peeps. I did not use the spacers in the rear, and 1 on the passenger side in the front to clear the sub-frame. The key to installing the mounts to the frame in the front is to bend the pre-bent hardware back to almost flat. The bolt will bend it to the correct angle when tightened. If you do not do this, you will not get a socket on the bolt as the bend/angle is in the way of clearance for access.
I also about crapped myself when I seen the angle that the end links needed to be installed at, but they went in pretty easy. The key being using a jack on the a-arm of the first side installed to align the second.
I also have changed the price of the end links. The brain is old! They were $16.56 per, not $11.99. There are some as cheap as $11.99 on Rock Auto though.
MOOG Part # K80186 $40.67 Shipped More Information for MOOG K80186

yeah, i also bought moog through rockauto. no problems that way.
Hey Bill its Brandon, finally got set up on here. Thanks for having me over, looks like I might be a go for this weekend too
I could show up Sunday or Friday and possibly later on Saturday. What time are you planning Saturday?
All day Saturday till light, sanity, food, or beerz run out...
BBQ will be hot! Not 100% if Nathan is coming down. He has autox on Sunday, and I hear tell there is a date involved somewhere in the mix. :suspect: :lmao:
The package priest showed again today!
Ninja delivered some seals for the trans, and Nathan sent down some bolts missing from the last clutch job. Only if it weren't so impossible to get a hold of an input shaft bearing/seal. GZP has a Japland boat coming, but do not know when. This is holding up the trans Bearing/synchro/seal assembly.
Hey Bill, Philip @ SCE sells the factory bearing & has always shipped out to me PDQ-
Inquired, thanks guys!
ill be there saturday at some point, probably mid morning
