Can I remove this

+1 thanks, just did the job now to see the results.

Leak continues but its coming from the shift plate.

Shift plate is an easy one... but you have to remove those detents again. Is the leak coming from the shift plate where it bolts to the transmission, or is it coming from the shaft where it enters the plate?

I thought you could pull it up enough to get some sealant under the plate but I could be wrong. I've slept a few times since the last time I messed with it.

You probably can, but I replaced the whole thing at once.

Have not taken the car apart so not sure if its comming from the shaft, but around the plate its soaked. I looked at the link that G Lantern posted earlier and it doesnt seem to complicated to remove, but the spring and the adjuster thing dont seem like fun to mess with. DWalt thanks for the heads up on having to remove the detents again!

From the shaft, is there a seal that can be bought and replaced?

No. Have to buy whole unit. IIRC, abt $75.

It's possible to replace the seal, but it's a LOT easier to just replace the whole thing. Really tightened up my shifter too.

$75 sounds good, im going to check my local dealer to see if they still sell the part. Thanks everyone for your help, ill update the results as they happen.
