Honestly it has not been any hotter here this year then the last few years,
I can live with the heat... sure the 10-15 days of 100-114* temps during the day was a little rough, but i can live with it. As soon as the sun went down it was perfect out.
I remember HOTTER days when i lived in Wisconsin when i was a child.
Definitely cooler here than it was 15 years ago.
LOTS cooler...
Alex, an engineer such as yourself ought to have the wherewithall to respect the fact that one occurrence of a particular phenomenon is not evidence of causality. By your logic, if we hit record lows this winter, we could just as easily say that global warming doesn't exist.
I don't think anyone disagrees that the Earth has been in a warming trend for the past 100 years (read: 100 of the Earth's 4.54 billion years of existence). The debate is whether that warming trend is anthropogenic. Have you sat in lectures on the subject from either side? One of my engineering professors gave a brief lecture discussing the discrepancy between anthropogenic global warming theory and physics and his argument was quite compelling. The media (and the far left in general) would have you believe that there is an overwhelming consensus within the academic world on anthropogenic global warming, but I'm here to tell you that based on my experiences that is simply not the case.
Is it possible that carbon emissions has an effect on climate? Absolutely. But let's not jump to conclusions on a science that is still in its relative infancy. There is still a fairly significant disconnect between the theory and the empirical data, and with the scandal that brought about doubts of measurement bias in said empirical data, its pretty understandable that many in the general public and the academic world are skeptical of the theory. There are a slew of factors that determine the climate on this Earth, so you can imagine how difficult it would be to have enough evidence to narrow down the cause of climate trends down to one specific variable. I only wish climatologists would take the kind of care the CERN scientists have in their studies as the science of both subjects is incredibly uncertain.
The earth has been warming since the ice age. Dont fear that the climate is warming, fear what caused the last ice age and what could cause the next.

Hoax, maybe. Certainly makes you question what the US government's real plans are...

In the previous thread I was laughed off like a heretic for stating that weather is not climate, meaning that individual days, weeks, or months of weather is not indicative of climate. However, the sum total average of several years' weather is climate.
My argument in the past was that one cold week in winter is not indicative of a reversal of global warning, just as one warm week in summer is not proof positive of climate change.
My argument now is that following the logic of all the naysayers from before, those same people should now be posting about a single hot week's weather pattern being proof positive of global warming.

we pave the earth... and these guys still deny we have any affect on it... give it up man...
these guys will go to their graves denying global warming was a myth. Just like the guys who went to their graves thinking the earth was flat...
