There is no network out that has true 4G.

Tell the rep to stop lying to you. Seriously.
Spint's 4G is a joke. It's all marketing.
Well its still much faster than current speeds. Plus, I don't know if any devices have the processing power to handle "true 4G". Verizon's 4G is called "LTE" or Long Term Evolution. I imagine this will be the platform that will get faster and faster. Hopefully this next generation of 4G phones will get faster and faster as the network "evolves". Either way, you can wait 5-10 years to buy a phone for "true 4G" and stay on 3G, or you can get a new phone every couple years and stay current.
3G coverage is abundant and 4G isn't to put it simply. Even in the areas where 4G exists, it is still poor at best. With this, your phone's battery is drained in mere hours in most cases as it is in a constant desperate search for 4G. Sprint can advertise 4G which brings in customers and can charge them $10 more per line on any 4G phone even without the coverage. You pay for something you don't get or is practically a gimmick.
I picked up the droid2 a few months ago. I've been very pleased with it. Considered the Fascinate, but Motorola owns in the reception department. The droid x was way too big for my liking, plus I like to have a physical keyboard so the droid2 was a perfect fit.

How's the keyboard holding up? Mine has started making weird noises (keys are delaminating from whatever they're stuck to) and they feel kinda weird too. I'm interested in the Droid Global (or whatever comes up this Spring with a physical keyboard.
I thought I wouldn't use the physical keyboard much, but Android didn't have multi-touch when I got the Droid, so it was pretty bad to use the virtual keyboard. Not an issue anymore, but I like the physical keyboard now :p
Perfect. Still looks and performs like new. It's all I use also, and I use it a lot. The only thing that annoys me is using symbols like &, ", etc. I space out one, then hit the symbol and it puts it back up against the last character I typed. Then I have to delete back, space out one and it will work. That's been my only complaint on the phone, which is very minor. Love the google voice nav, use it constantly, and the google voice searching.

You kids and your physical keyboards. The fastest typing is done on virtual. ;)
Also, while Motorola does well with reception, they are all more or less the same anymore. If you buy a lower end phone it can be a little worse. However, my Galaxy is getting far better reception than my old Motorola.
