Yes, that divider goes all the way to the valve itself. When the gate is closed there is not crossover at all, keeping it a truly divided twin scroll.
Nah, just this one. I originally went to a single because of its simplistic design. One turbo when I want to change, etc.. The other side to this story was the sheer amount of heat the rear turbo was giving to the brake lines and firewall. For a drag run, no issues. An hour long stint on a road course, it would cook the back turbo.
I really should post more pics. Here's another little gem I found during the dis-assembly of the old system. Quick back story, and really why I decided to go with the new titanium/crushed lava rock wrap. (and test it!)
My buddy had given me a roll of "heat wrap" he had bought on Ebay, super cheap stuff. He hated the feel of it. It was simply nothing more that straight up fiberglass wrap. It was free so I decided to use it under the good stuff. I figured it couldn't hurt. Fast forward a couple seasons and many, many high heat cycles later and what does that stuff do? Well, it turns into glass. Real glass. In fact so much glass that I had to whack it lightly to get it to break free and come off the tube. Some places were full on tubes of glass surrounding the exhaust tube. Lesson learned. If it's a $20 roll of cheap heat wrap and you plan on having glowing orange manifolds, suddenly, you're a glass guy. LOL
That's actually pretty cool! Thanks for sharing.
