Thoughts on 4B1 engine swap?

I might have to try to make the Shootout this year. I've been talking about going for years and never did it. Norwalk is only 3.5 hours from me anyhow.

The poster in that thread was incorrect in saying that they had a Getrag unit.

Getrag units were only in the AWD models, using part numbers W5MG1 (5-speed) and W6MG1 (6-speed).

So, if the parts in question are for a F5M33, You have the right part numbers providing they were looked up correctly.

Thank you for clearing that up! That's what was throwing me off. I did a bit of looking around on the EVO forums and those are indeed the correct part numbers.

No worries at all, interesting stuff to read so I don't mind. The fuel economy was the main thing driving the swap, however just the experience of having a swap done alone would be something that I would love to have.For now I'm just going to get the taller 5th gear, but after looking more into it, a 4G swap is probably something I'll do in the future :)
