Nope didn't install the 99 lifters. It was basically a budget rebuild so only the essential things got replaced, oil pump, water pump timing belt, rings, bearings, pistons, heads redone etc. The lifters might have just ran out of the diesel fuel that was in them to keep the primed and after running it for awhile they just need to get re primed?
Right now I'm working on some "concept heads" in my autoshop, those are getting 99 lifters.

Got 200 miles on her. Doing a mix between the rough, and babying it break in method. Fuck its hard to keep my foot out of it, car is so quick now compared to what it used to be. Bit of a exhaust leak still, but it's good enough for now but you can tell the loss of low end torque. IAC is shitting out and the cold weather is making sure of that, sounds like its got a super lobed cam in it when it first starts then jumps to 2100RPMs and then steadys out after going into gear. Lifter tick is basically gone, which is great.
I just wanna give a big thanks to the community here for helping out in all my topics, if it wasn't for you guys I wouldn't of got it going.
HUGE thanks to Alan who came and helped personally! Really set me on the right track with where a few parts go. Gave me a ride in his TT (first time I ever rode in a TT) and really motivated me to get her finished. Talk about being a good admin.

Disconnect the IAC untill you get a new one or you will be replacing the ECU and IAC.

I actually just found a vacuum leak, so I think the IAC is fine. I hope, however there is some humming come from under my dash. It's most likely the death song of a tired and abused capacitor. The leak is actually coming from my gasket on my throttle body don't get gaskets from auto-zone, period.
