Upgrading to 19Ts

Hey! Thanks for the feedback guys... I'll update the first post with my progress as I go... I ordered the L wheel because it has been noted and it's my understanding of the physics of the 2 wheels that the HL is more free flowing and builds MORE hp, but it does so in the higher RPMs because in the lower RPMs there is not as much exhaust gas to push the turbine wheel and more gas is flowing through the wheel instead of turning the wheel. I would prefer the opposite and have a wheel that catches more gas and spins my turbos faster at a lower rpm pushing my power curves to the left a little when compared to the HL wheel. After I get some dyno numbers we can compare and see what the differences are and if they are what I expected. I know I will sacrifice the higher HP number in the higher revs, but I don't plan any cams or headwork, so I don't want to push high HP towards my redline or bang it off the rev limiter. I should have dyno numbers by November, I only have a couple more things to get before I start transplanting things. I will have to wait till spring to hit the track with it.

Price for one, also it depends on how hard he is going to push them. That being said I went with the HL wheels also. I haven't really cranked them up to far yet though. 20psi has been about the max I've ran them. I'm just running 16 right now since I'm DDing it.

I'm running the Mac solenoid and LCD BC. Have been for awhile. It works good. My only gripe is not having gear based boost control. I've overboosted more than a few times. That's about to change soon though since Antero is working on it.

Since Greg is doing the tuning, we will probably go with the FP solenoid unless it gives me problems. From what I understand he might be able to deal with any boost spiking through custom ECU ROM also. I will have to cram and learn the setup and functions of the LCD BC... It's sitting on a shelf right now awaiting my data logger. Basically from what I have read, I just got an AEM wideband controller to hook up to the LCD, and a datalogger is on the way to hook up also. I have not read any install instructions and not sure how to fully utilize this all-in-one magic box, lol. Basically I need to get the MBC and Turbo timer out and put in the LCD, Wideband, and data logger. Stressing about these transplants because I don't know how to proceed with them yet. Going to have the wideband controller installed first I guess, and then start reading the technical stuff to figure out how to set it all up. I still have no Idea how to mount the thing behind the tach and make the window. His web instructions are one of the many many sites my office blocks from our internet access. :(

Why don't you use evoscan with the LCD BC instead of another data logger altogether? That's what I'm doing.

See, that's the part I'm not entirely understanding... I know the LCD BC has an input for datalogging but it is not a stand alone data logger... At least that's my understanding. Maybe I'm wrong. I thought I needed to buy a data logger to feed the info to the LCD.

No you just use evoscan $25 and hook your laptop up to the lcd bc. I do it through the serial expansion port with a FTDI serial to usb based cable I bought off eBay. All you have to do is change a few settings in evoscan so it can read the data through the LCD BC and you're good. It will read the data just fine but without anything to store the info to you can't read it which is where evoscan comes in handy because it can interpret/save the data.

OK, thanks man... I'm going to get this thing hooked up really soon and push forward with the build... The lighthouse challenge tied up my whole weekend.

Looks like a great time! I'm sorry I had to miss it because of work and putting the final touches on V2.

Dave i'll be using EVOScan with my custom definition file for tuning your car. The flash ECU only works with my custom file. I'll leave you a copy of it after we are done tuning but don't swet it too much as chances are you'll be able to just drive your car worry free after I'm done tuning it.
