It does kind of amuse me how Texas has gone downhill so fast the last few years. Given that the way that the BigXII was basically viewed as the Longhorns Football Conference and everything seemed Texas-centric, that was what lead Colorado and Nebraska to leave. And then Missouri and A&M. It would be one thing if Texas was still winning (IMO anyhow) because at least then they could vindicate the moves that they've made and the Longhorn TV network, instead they seem to have gone down and taken the rest of the Big12 with them. Of course, not all of that is on Texas, the performance of the rest of the Big12 in out of conference games and BCS bowls has been abysmal as well, and the other teams in conference could've objected to certain things the conference did, but amusing all the same.
I think Chizik would be fine. He was a stellar DC but not a good team manager as HC.
Won't happen though. I think a lot of coordinators see Texas as a sinking ship. I bet Mack hangs them up at the end of the year.
I wonder if anyone can talk UT's AD to hire Bobo to be a head coach? take him off our hands
If Texas goes after anyone it's going to be a big name. They can name any price they want.
with the numbers this offense will put up this season alone with last few years people that don't know any better and follow UGA closely won't know any better and think Bobo is some kind of genius.
edit: ZOMG! take Saban! that f*cker has been in one place for like 4 years. I bet his bags are still packed. or how about Petrino?! :lmao: I can't stop myself!
Bobby, stahp!! I'm quite fond of UT's current quagmire. :D

The Saban theory isn't TOO farfetched, but again, any number Texas names, Alabama will match, despite the fact that Texas has deeper pockets. Texas would basically come at him with "You have the chance to win MNCs at three different schools if you come to Texas." Recruiting won't be a draw for him because he already does well at Alabama. Add to that the fact that Saban has more money than he can spend already and I just don't see it.
Tyler nailed it. All texas needs is a coach that brings expertise to either side of the ball (unlike used car salesman "ceo" mack who the game past bye years ago), actual integrity and accountability to his staff (unlike uncle mack who hires all his friends), and the ability to turn shit around on the recruiting trail (mack is a joke).
There are probably 2 dozen coaches (or more) that can do this at Texas. Just gtfo already, mack.
