I replaced the oil pump gasket on the 91 project VR4. Needless to say not the most fun you can have on a Saturday and I'm beat.

Today was fun... Almost drained the gas tank when I disconnected it and had to band-aid it so I could finsh with the wiring relocate and trim.

So after playing in spagetti for another 6 hours or so the major engine wiring and big deletes are pretty much resolved. I need to clean things up but it's pretty much reduced to what I want it to be for now.
I also took another 200lbs out of it between yesterday and today. I think I'm going to cut the bottom radiator support out and build shrouded shoulder brackets for the radiator on both sides to clean up the look of the front end because its so huge!

Going to do something like this and weld a side bracket to the main frame supports on the drivers side and passenger side. I'm going to cut everything outlined in green out and support the radiator from the sides. On the drivers side I'll do the same thing into a split collector and run custom piping to cool the brake reservior and turbo manifolds. The tumbling air will get siphoned out of the hood when I add a couple of raised pieces to it.

That's it for major stuff till I get another free weekend in 2 weeks to install the trans and the widebody fenders.
in for pics when it's finished, j.fast.
Drove it!
Messed with the wiring for the DLI a little bit, I hate how I have it secured, but can't think of a better way to do it.
J.Fast, where do you have yours? Also, any particular reason you still have that clutch assist tank? I bet it weighs a few pounds.
looked at it once again.. wishing it would fix itself.. lol
couldn't work on it today, as its outside now, and its snowing/raining, cold weather out.. didn't feel like working in the cold today :)
Went for a 300km drive :p but had to go slow cus the missues was in the car  she freaks out when your doing 100+km/h around a corner with a shear drop on one side hahaha.
Love the active aero in the sig pic!
I had it below the distribution box. Remove the mounting screws to the fuse box and cut the main harness ties to get some slack to the harness so you can fold it out of the way. Take two 1" wide by 8" strips of 14 gauge stainless or aluminum and make some "L" brackets and mount them to the backside of the headlight bucket so the DLI can be mounted parallel to the fusebox cover. Sits perfect under there. You can even plumb a BOV in there.
I'm working my way to the firewall. I still have the A/C lines to remove. Thanks for the heads up on that! I'll pull that clutch assist once I get all the parts for the new HTOB sorted.
I stare at it sometimes too! Nothing ever gets done when I do that. It's unbelieveable that I could tinker for an hour and get absolutely nothing done.
Haha, Alli doesn't like to go for rides because when the car jerks it hurts her neck. She also said I need different seatbelts than the stock ones and would feel safer with them. I miss cruisin. Haven't gone for a mountain cruise in ahwile. Gravels still down for snowmelt in the mountains, but soon enough it will be gone.
I replaced the thermostat and the radiator cap on the 95 base as I had some overheating issues a of a sudden. In hindsight I think it was the radiator cap for sure.
