Kilmer a better batman??? The only thing that saved that movie was The Riddler. None of the burton era or Nolan films got batman right. The costume in BVS is the best we have seen and the fight scenes were the 1st attempt at showing a character that can move the way batman should. He's not a wooden guy that sits there and takes blows in armor.
wait Jim Carey's Riddler saved Batman Forever? nothing could save that movie. hell the only thing keeping it from being the worst Batman movie ever was Batman and Robin.
agree to disagree but I think the Nolan Batman movies were fantastic.
I will agree that the BVS costume was the best hands down and it's not even close. I really liked the posture, shape and coloring a lot. really a highlight of the movie for me.

"Jim Carey's Riddler saved Batman Forever" Yes it did. I can watch that movie if only for his performance. And if nothing could save it how can you consider Kilmer a good batman?
I liked the Nolan movies and think they are all better movies than BVS. But the character they show as batman is not the character from the comics. The entire plot of DKR would not have happened with the comics batman. "Sorry you Ra's daughter". The character in BVS is the closest we have gotten on film.
easy. I don't. Kilmer = bad. Clooney = even worse.
sure. which is why I'm so disapointed in Affuck. could have been great but nooooo. they did their best to limit his speaking which I think helped but also hurt because we had constant scenes of Affuck just trying to look angry. so cringe worthy.Quote:

Get out. Go fornicate yourself with a sharp pointy stick, and then use it to gouge both eyes out. Burton Batman is the best batman. Say what you want about Schumacher or Nolan, but you dog on Burton's version, and you've just lost all credibility as a movie reviewer. Burton's world LOOKED like the comics. Keaton didn't need a gruff voice or a stupid voice modulator. He had no silly CG. No overworked, flashy batmobile.
Robo-batman picking a fight with someone who can instantly kill him with his eyes alone--stupid idea in the first place. Picking afflunkie to play that role...woefully bad. Kilmer wasn't great in Schumacher's 1st outing--but I despised his rendition less than I do Bennifer.
I also don't get WTF is wrong with Keaton's fight scenes. You might as well lament Adam West's rendition that had cutaways to "POW" every time someone got hit. Just because YOU PERSONALLY like the late 90's, emo-dark batman, doesn't mean that those are the best batman comics--or that the movies that use those comics as source material are somehow better than earlier movies that use the classic batman material.
/rant.
Keaton/Burtons batman has to wear an armored suit. He could not turn his head and had to turn with his torso to look around.
If you do not see the issue with that then you do not understand the character.
A movie can be good without being true to the character. A movie can be bad but be true to the character.
Burtons Batman is a great movie. Keatons Bruce Wayne was excellent. His batman is good but lacking.
Burtons batman
Detective - Check
Intelligent - Check
World class athlete - No
One of the greatest martial artists in the DC Universe, and having peak human physical conditioning - No
Someone superman describes as "the most dangerous man on Earth" - Yea, no
Afflecks batman is closer to the version of the character in the comics than has ever been presented in live a live action movie.
BVS is not a better movie than Batman. But the character in BVS is closer to the source material.
If you honestly believe he's a better batman then prove it. Dont just say he and a /Rant. Explain why you think he's better.
So then you're merely arguing that Afflunkie has the benefit of newer movie technology & better movie props/design. Ok, sure. But that doesn't make him better in either side of the duality of the the role he plays. Acting wise, Keaton owned that role--it's not even close.
P.S.
Gigli forever gives me license to call Affuckface "bennifer". Well that, and he married Garner until 2015...so yeah....
sorry that only applies to couples. since he is no longer a couple with her and has since been with and split from another Jennifer the name no longer applies. might as well call New York, New Amsterdam or Istanbul, Constantinople. however insults like Affuck or something of a similar level of insult is perfectly acceptable. ;)
I prefer New Amsterdam. Makes it sound like I have a shot at visiting a decent coffee bar & then walking over to see a nice sex show.
pretty much my inspiration for the examples. They Might Be Giants, old school for sure.
Thank god other people know this reference.
Oh I got the reference. I just figured it was so ubiquitous that it didn't need saying.
So I saw Civil War last night. Good movie, kinda long though. I'd give it a 7.5/10 overall. Not something I would go in theaters to see again, but I like the story development and I like that they made Spidey actually kick some butt. Hope his character matures quickly in the other movies though. They allowed him to be a little too obnoxious IMO
Curious whats coming down the pipeline long term. Saw a preview for Doctor Strange. I know nothing about him. I also realized how little I know about Black Panther... I knew he had a bullet proof suit and was super rich, but don't know about the family heritage or the last scene after the credits either...
Jurassic World 6 of 10, it was kind of stupid
Dead Pool 8 of 10, pretty funny
Jurrassic world was a definite 6/10
agreed about JW. to bad they killed that hawt black haired chick.
X-Men Apacalypse
6.5-10.
it was very ok. I was right about Oscar not being right for Apacalypse. he came off more as creepy than menacing or intimidating. it was truly disapointing. I was really hoping it would spin into the Age of Apacalypse and use it to introduce Cable. that was one of my favorite story lines. that and X-Coutioner's Song. whatever happens with Cable if they do bring him into the movies they'd be foolish not to use Stryfe as well.
Just watched Deadpool. If 4Chan became a superhero that would probably be close. 7.5/10
Finding Dory. 9/10. Waste of time to see it in 3D, IMO, so don't do that. But very well executed story line. Expect the feels (Pixar, duh).
Piper, the short at the beginning -- as far as shorts go -- 9.5/10. Awesome!
Thomas and Friends Rescue on the Rails :suspect:
Kid quiet for part of the 7 hour drive = 12/10
Ah parenthood. In all seriousness though, Thomas sucks. Pretty crappy principles for a kid to watch.
:lmao:
Jeremy
and all of that is why I don't have kids in the first place.
Sorry, my kids are going to get raised on Rodgers & Hammerstein...with a dose of Monty Python.
Rudy
10/10
Can't believe it's taken me this long to watch the movie.
Secret Life of Pets
9/10 go watch it. hilarious and fun without any(that I saw) annoying social comentary.
Can't wait for that to come out on blu-ray. Everyone I know that's seen it, has raved about it.
Jeremy
I just watched the video of the cars plowing through BLM protests.
10/10 would watch again

Friends of mine were stuck on the Memphis bridge for over 3 hours due to these idiots.
