Great info and clarification. If I had 98-99 vr4 ECU I would use it, but the fact is, is I have an 98-99 SL ecu, and would hate to let it go to waste for no reason. Hope to support and contribute to this thread in the future.
Thanks

There are a couple of us working on converting the 98-99 SOHC, DOHC/SL ECU's into full blown 98-99 VR4 ECU's, so dont give up on them yet.
I think this is what confuses me most. Why would anyone give up on them? People make it seem like it is a lost cause, but in reality it seems so far from it.
I'm glad people are still looking for a full solution, and would be more than happy to contribute what I can. I actually have my B.S. in EE, so I would be more than happy to help or debug anything electrically. But in reality having an EE degree doesn't really mean a thing when it comes to real life application. But still happy to help if I can.
It will take some work, but the outcome looks promising. My plan is to have replicated a 99VR4 ECU by this spring. Just missing a few pieces.
SL ECU owner checkin in...:p
Just waiting on my conversion harness to come in and hopefully I can be another flashed based 3/s owner with no problems..
Using evoscan 2.7 is there some special trick to inserting the data file? I can insert the data file, but can't move the others away without Evoscan wanting to reinstall. If I keep the original data files in there then starting up evoscan it gives me the message that I have duplicate files. Anyways, if anyone can help me out with that either here or quick PM, thanks.
Are there any updates on using a 3.5" gm maf and translator with the flash? All I need is a tactrix cable and I'm ready to go.
