i fly with one backpack carryon. and you can damn well bet that it's going with me so long as i'm ambulatory. most of the time it rides under the seat in front of me. my laptop and irreplaceable shiz is in it. clothes, pro gear, equipment...i don't care. laptop is NOT optional.
besides, even if it's overhead, it takes about .5 seconds for me to rip it free and sling it.
If everyone really was "calmly" egressing the plane as the stupid little laminated trifold sheet in the seat back in front of them said, then they probably figured they may as well grab a bag while they waited in line to go down the Monkey Joes blow up slide.
Not the best of moves in my own opinion.
+1
Of course some people might of been waiting because some idiots were holding up the line grabbing their crap. We don't really know the situation. Everyone might of been standing there waiting on the slide to be deployed. Who knows? If it didn't hold anybody up I don't think I'd condemn a person for grabbing a bag that had blood pressure medicine, lap top, or a good bit of cash.
^^^ Exactly. Those are my thoughts.
Now that we've established nobody waited on shit...... lol
Dude don't be an ass, it could have been 5-10 minutes before the door was opened. I guess you are the crash expert now?
No I was talking to Alex but not saying he's a dick ether. I'm just saying we don't know the situation. These people just almost died so lets excuse them from not thinking clearly. I can't say how I'd act. Hell the airport might use the video the passengers took to help learn how to unload people quicker in the future.
People just want to argue about dumb shit, the reason I don't go in the political area.
 thanks bro
Looks like everyone was being douche bags.

At least one man interviewed in the New York Times indicated that he grabbed his bags and then his child. In that order.

Certainly now that airlines and the FAA are clearly on notice that survivable accidents could be imperiled by passengers wasting time collecting their bags, they need to take action to address this issue before anyone needlessly dies in a survivable accident.
I will straight stomp anyone blocking me getting out of a crashed plane b/c they wanted to get some bags.
You know what fixes this........stop crashing planes.;)
I am finding Calculus II, in an 8-week course, while being active duty military to be extremely demotivating. I have no sweet picture or meme to express what I'm feeling right now.
The first one is hilarious. The second, while funny, explains my test taking tactics. lol

When you go from the 4th to the 5th line, you divide by (a-b) ... Which in this case, is zero. Don't beat yourself up if you didn't immediately realize that :p
And goodness, guys. That's basic algebra... not even close to calculus.
I took algebra only in college, never took calculus or geometry or anything else. If it wasn't for my wife I never would have passed algebra. Never used it again and remember nothing about it.
And I'm a software developer and I used to build physics engines for flash applications back in the day along with physics for 3D rendering!!!
