Precisely. post-production 3-d effects are just not the same, imho--and will never justify my coin for seeing it as thus.

like I've said, Pacific Rim was pos production 3D and was visually AWESOME! it all has to do with the type of movie. I don't care if the Notebook had been filmed in 3D. it'd still suck.
All I know is 3D version compared to the 2D version watched back to back was a vert different experience post production or not. Your stance closes your mind to an experience that may change it.
I'm really not sure why people are so hung up on Rey's success. It's fighting on a shitty desert planet and ......... THE FORCE! it's stronger with her. get over it
Other than that I agree for the most part other than I want to see it again and the Kingsmen was definitely not better. I liked it but hell no.
It was one of my issues with the movie, that and they seemed to attack the death planet with 20 X-wings lol.
I think you're a loyal--blind--but loyal fanboy, paul. You'd be in the vast minority of people who would rate Kingsmen lower than Episode 7. That was my contention, but I'm getting agreement from virtually everyone (I've personally interacted with) on that--emphatic to begrudging. The biggest reason why Episode 7 is NOT fantastic (good, great even, but not fantastic), is because it's a rehash. The reason why fans of 4-6 love it so much is because they literally tried to cram all of 4-6 into 1 movie.
-There's a desert planet with a marooned child stuck on it with a "trusted" guardian
-Said child learns the ways of the force over the course of the movie
-Home of said child is attacked by the bag guys and decimated, everyone is killed
-Escape abroad the Millennium Falcon
-There's a forest/green planet. There's an ice planet
-There's a gigantic superweapon that is the lynchpin of the bad guy's might
-Landspeeder turned on its side
-Droid entrusted with a crucial piece of information that HAS to make it to the good guys at all cost
-Millennium Falcon has problems
-Holochess
-Shooting at TIE fighters in the Falcon
-Tongue-in-cheek joke about a trash compactor in a scene so similar to the original that the computer console is identical
-Sarlacc eats a TIE fighter
-Main protagonist fights lightsaber that previously belonged to forebearers
-Bad guy wears a mask with a voice-synthizer
-Han is betrayed by someone he trusts
...do you really need me to go on?
That's a crying shame. I'm far from the only one to see that JJ borrowed HEAVILY from the established canon to make Episode 7. He did it to Trek, the fact that he's done it to Wars should not surprise anyone. It's nothing to personally get offended at. I don't do ad-hominem attacks. I call it like I see it, and this movie--especially after a 2nd view, just seems like a rehash on every level.
isn't that sorta the whole point of the story? that they cannot escape their destiny?
Deadpool 8/10
Great movie, Go see it.
Have not laughed that hard in a long time.
PS Kingsman > ep7
Then you would be wrong.
He posted about having a ticket yesterday on FB. Definitely legit. :)

I know, just saying. I have a FB under a BS name just so I can follow WVU sports. :D

Surprised to read all the love on Kingsmen. I thought it was good, I wasn't overly-impressed though.
I haven't seen ep7 yet. Really wanted to. Maybe I'll try and make it out this weekend.
Deadpool looks funny. I hope the previews haven't ruined all the funny parts.
Episode 7 was very cool, but lacked character development, and in spots felt more like a catch up.
The next will determine success, or failure imo.

Deadpool 12 out of 10.
I absolutely loved the movie. The one liners, the gratuitous violence, all of it.
Yeah, saw Deadpool on Valentines day. It was really great.
Still need to see Ep7... even my parents have seen it. Ugh.
Martian. Good stuff
Pixles.
7/10
it got really bad reviews but I thought it was pretty funny. :dontknow:
turbo kid
10/10
Batman V Superman
7/10. it was very ok. could have been better but I'm not sure how. director/writers were smart to keep Ben Affuck from talking to much. I would not expect to see him in the sequel.
I have read nothing but bad reviews about it. I think the whole concept is stupid, but I digress...
It's not like this is an original idea or something. Batman basically becomes a shitty Ironman and like everyone else uses Kryptonite to fight Superman.
I just wish they had made more of the Superman v Doomsday fight. like it was in the comics. Superman giving his entire self to finish off Doomsday.
I am getting a huge swing of hate/it's ok/and great. Will wait a couple weeks for a decent home version to watch.
I liked Batman v Superman. Its not a great movie but its a good movie with action that deserves to be seen on the big screen.
The version of the characters they portray will not be to everyone's liking. The more you cling to a specific version of either characters the "THE" version the lower the chances that you will like this movie. I personally am open to different interpretations and can enjoy them all.
In my opinion its the Best(aka closest to the comics) version of batman that we have seen.
I have seen several reviews where the reviewer bitched about the lack of plot. I really have to wonder about them. My only guess is that they are not picking up on the bits that show how much of the plot is driven by Lex and not just random events. IMO the "dream" sequence in the middle is not a dream. I believe its a vision sent from the future. Lots of nice bits for fans to pickup in that sequence that tell us who the villain(s) for the Justice League movies will be.
imdb is giving a 7.5 so can't be all bad I guess. Mifght try and get out to see this weekend.
Sounds eerily similar to what people said about episode 1...
Deadpool 9/10. WAY, WAY, WAY better than BVS or Episode 7.
BVS: battle of the orphans about 6/10. Affleck sucks as batman and bruce wayne. He's better than Bale & Clooney--not as good as Kilmer, nowhere near as good as Keaton. Arguably the best things about the movie were Gal Gadot, Diane Lane & Amy Adams. I don't think Henry Cavil is bad, but the writing they gave him to work with his horrible. WTF does Superman need to carry the spear? Why can't WW's amazonian prowess hurl it at doomsday? Why is superman miraculously always there to save lois every freaking time, including when he can't even hear her voice? At least Superman 1-2 got it right when he DIDN'T save Lois. And there's no teaser after the credits, so don't bother.
I disagree with Alan. Best batman is Burton batman. I get that the comics changed & became darker, and the newer movies reflect this. That's fine...but the dudes they're getting to play batman suck. I doubt we'll ever see another movie that's as awesome as Batman Returns. Pffeifer, Keaton, Walken, DeVito...that's almost impossible to top.
