I like that plate that he's making for it now. Looks so clean.

I just want to get a darker colored knob now. They do install really clean though. Really impressive work he does with that 3d printer.

2g 10:1 going into the 91 vr4. Should be pretty fun with e85 and the stock turbos turned way up. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...f1282052d3.jpg

Definetly should be fun! I see a aluminium crankshaft pulley there, what's your opinion about the rumors that say the vibrations can take out rod bearings? I have one myself but am slightly worried about it, should I be?
Also, finally got everything to wire up chrome! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...b7a5c760fd.jpg
Last night I pulled the Downpipe off to install the new wideband and will be pulling the Xfer case today....all to replace the lovely rack & pinion.

Went plastidip crazy on my faded trim pieces. Since I had used it on the area where the spoiler was, it looked funny that the other pieces were so faded.

Now they all match!

Well the tease is over, time to strip it back down.
- Pulled headlights/bumper/front clip (can keep the hood on now for engine pulls with my removable front :) )
- Pulled seats/lower dash/shifter/carpet.
- Pulled engine/trans/driveshaft/radiator/etc.
- Removed steering rack/arms/subframe
- Cut out stock drivers side motor mount and the metal that it is welded to. Behind that "box" of metal is more perfectly smooth metal that basically matches the passenger side! I didn't have to cap it off :)
- Welded mounts to the subframe for the rear and center braces
- Cut and trimmed outer trans tunnel (Opened the front of it up more, you can see they need capping now at the bottom)
- Cut up excess trans tunnel underside metal and smoothed it all out. Ready for prep/paint/sealant now
- Removed ABS/charcoal canister/breather line thingy (fuel breather?)
- Mounted fuel pressure regulator/filter (not shown in picture, located behind passenger strut tower, right above the lines)
- Cleaned up, smoothed out, and painted behind passenger strut tower and under headlights (where front clip bolts to)
Mocked up brake lines from ABS delete also. Have to make a mount above the tunnel and then figure out what i am going to do for rear brake lines. Will have to make a line coming from the brake master as well. ABS braided lines still work without issue, don't need to rebuild them. Also figured out fuel lines, will be incredibly easy!
I think that's about it, probably missing a couple things. Next is finishing fuel lines, brakes, and removing AWS lines. At this point I will seriously consider putting the engine back in, even though it's not ready, and rig up some wiring for the sole reason of firing it up. This will do nothing but give me motivation and then i will take it back out lol. I have a LOT of work left to do, it really is deceiving. Fuel, tunnel, brakes, clutch, cooling, wiring, powdercoating (probably just paint as it's not worth powdercoating that turd), gas pedal, throttle linkage, driveshaft, intake, exhaust, steering shaft, gauges, engine accessories, sway bar, interior (still some brackets to make for that), suspension, HVAC, and then general car stuff like side skirts, spoiler, fluids, cleaning and painting engine bay, etc.

Picked up an SL from a friend for really cheap. Guy had the car painted back in 2002. Shortly after he blew the engine. He had it rebuilt by a local shop at RPM and never put it back in. No idea how long it's been sitting or when it was rebuilt. The kid got into drugs really bad and can't remember anything about it. He couldn't even remember if he had the motor rebuilt or not. After inspecting he obviously did. I don't even have a key for it. Looks like it has unorthadox racing cam gears and the heads were port/polished some. It's going to sit for a while since I'm still working on my shop. I may try to get it going again or I may just part it. Has some body damage and smells like moth balls really bad.
Would need wheel bearings, tie rod ends, ball joints, brakes, tires, ac condenser, ac drier, clutch, fluids, starter, and some body work. Car was green so someone painted over the lexan headlights. Then somehow the quarter panel/taill light area was damaged.

^ Im sure if you decide to fix it, it will turn out amazing as everything you seem to build does haha
Ended up buying a new battery for the 1g. Stopped at the grocery store, went to leave and had no power while trying to start. Tried jumping it for 20 minutes and barely got a crank, new battery and it fired right up.
Kenny I think your are referring to the dead batery in my 2g at NG14. That was replaced the week following the NG 😜
This one pretty much did the same thing. Started fine, turned off the car and wouldn't start again. Battery completely toasted.
Trying to get this intercooler tubing to line up.
Waiting for some boxes with stuffs in them to show up :suspect:
Cleaning up the garage and packing away as much as I can. Trying to get every single thing out of the shop that I can. Then pulling in the stealth to strip it all down bare. I have 5 weeks off in Dec so planning to paint the car during that time. So lots to do in the next 2 months! Was actually thinking about setting up cameras in the shop to record it all.... :scratchchin:
I couldn't do the camera thing. It just wouldn't work with my ADHD.
Bought a minty fresh one owner, 21k mile, fiji blue vr4.
It does have a bit of wheel gap up front, but that will be taken car of once I put the engine back in.

It has one scratch on the rear quarter panel. It will be taken care of.

Sounds like you got outbid...LOL :p
Yeah, stupid "confirm" screen messed with me. Would have been better if I wasn't on my phone with crappy service in my friends pit crew for a demolition derby. I bid 5500 with 3 seconds left, then some stupid confirm button popped up at the bottom of the screen. I clicked it but I guess it wasn't fast enough. Curious what your "max" bid was. I have a 6 speed setup and 4 bolt motor I was going to put in it to resell. The seller said he'd take $700 off my bid too if I didn't want the stealth. At least I scored a pretty sweet targa vr4 this week.

I had intentions on working on the Stealth this weekend but I ended up not being home all weekend.
I did help my cousin yank the engine out of a project Talon his girlfriend bought. We bolted it to the stand, flipped it over, yanked the pan and as soon as I grabbed #4 rod I knew I had found the problem.
Pulled the cap and found this
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...psmd2z1c3s.jpg
I was actually at the guy's place in the middle of BFE looking at the cars with about 20 minutes left on the auction. I only had one bar of service to work with so I had to make it count. I put in a max of 6k, so I'm glad your last bid didn't go through, would have cost me even more! lol.
That is a sweet targa, looks like it was done well too.
I got the stealth home over the weekend and started pulling it apart. I got it running, but it was leaking fuel out of the return line at the tank so I couldn't leave it running for long. Didn't sound like valves (as the ad stated) but I checked them out anyway. The heads looked fresh and have '99 lifters in them. Pulled a lifter out and there was a decent amount of trash in the bottom. Compression test was 150psi across the board. The oil pan was dented and leaking so I pulled it. Lots of glitter in the bottom of the pan. Did the wiggle test on the rod caps and found a loose one. "6 rod bearing halves decided to get kinky and hopped on top of each other.
So that engine is toast.
Not that I would swap a 141k engine into a 21k mile car, but it would have been nice to use as a core for rebuild. I might end up using the 2 bolt that I have in my white car. Just need to have the 3.5 rebuilt first.
This happened today

Not everything today but disassembled my 74 shorty & basically new DR stage 3 heads. Already have a 75 crank. Just getting everything ready to ship to Ray, hopefully this week if I can find a crate. Put together a valve spring & retainer just because lol. Trying to at least get the long block assembled before the new year.

A bit of pre-trackday preparation; new brake rotors & fluid plus a service.

Nice ride man!!
If anyone is curious how my spool is:
http://www.chrisbehnken.com/Images/photos/boostwC.jpg
2/3 throttle and goes 0 to 20 PSI from 3400 to 4200 in .6 seconds. That's with the boost only set at 17, still tuning the boost control. This is in 2nd gear.
I've seen 12 PSI at like 2300 RPM.
It comes on about like nitrous, decent power, then bam out of nowhere hauling. Its a lot of fun. Probably keep it at 20 PSI this winter and dial everything in a little bit better. The car really likes about 11.6 to 12.2 AFR. It struggles to ignite a full throttle load at < 11.2:1 or so.
That boost curve looks like the RS's boost... but you make way more power :( Must be a total f'ing blast to drive your car, the near insta-spool is fun!
You need a ride in my car;) Different feeling than your tq monster though. My roads are curvy backroads, hilariously fun when 700+awhp unleashes all at once when converter and turbo both get into action at 7500rpm. Before that....10:1 NA 2.0l...lol. And yes, better be pointed straight!
Today I finally finished rebuilding the front steering rack. Tomorrow to bolt it all in and start on the new wideband.
Pulled subframes and suspension off my old shell over the weekend, should be taking delivery on my blue 95 VR4 shell this coming weekend.
