Wow, you're the same age as my car.
thanks but i cant access classifieds i need help
i swear no one reads the instructions anymore.
Greets all! My name is ron, and I have been a proud owner of a 3s platform (92 rt tt) since the year 2000. I was an active member, went to the detroit area meetings a few times, and participated in 3si discussions. I instantly fell in love with the community and the platform. I began a long list of upgrades (which i will put in sig) then, in 2007 my car developed a knock (i believe it is head related) and i parked it. Financially I could not afford to fix it, so i left the vehicle to sit for several years. Recently I purchased a 95 3000gt (19t turbos) and am in mid upgrade to aem series 2, new fmic, flat foot shifting, etc etc. (full info available on request). This vehicle is looking to run the michigan gumball race this year if i get it running in time!!! I look forward to rejoining the community, as i have much knowledge to share with the community, and with my next stage of upgrades could use the support. Hopefully i will be able to have one of the vehicles for the national gathering, next year i will have 2 :)
Hey Ron, good to hear from you again.
Hey to everyone! Ran across a post on other random forum about the history associated with 3si.org and it led me here! Been on and off the 3si site for many years but missed and/or was not aware of the behind the scenes changes which took place. Anyway, I guess my connection is through ownership of a red 98 3000GT SL I bought new many moons ago. Had plans to run it for a couple years and then update to a VR4 when I was able, but of course, that did not pan out as some bonehead corporate bigwig(s) decided to kill off the model. Oh well, I ended up keeping the SL and have enjoyed it best I could while raising a kid for the past 18 years. He’s fixing to be on his own so I’m looking back to my toys to do a little catching up! Best part about my 3000GT? It’s only got around 22K miles on it! Just getting broke in good!! LOL
Wow, 22k miles? Sounds like a nice one! :)
Jeremy
Yep, mostly highway miles, too (vacations and a few car/bike shows). Needless to say, it basically looks brand new (do regret not biting the bullet back then and going ahead with the VR4 tho). I have had to replace the door and dash speakers due to the surrounds rotting, which was pretty much normal for speakers around that time. Other than that it’s basically stock, although I am getting the itch to tweak a few things just to personalize it a little. After all, you see soooo many of these 3000GT’s running around on a daily basis!!! LOL
Hm. Well, about myself. I suppose I'm a person. And also, I own a 95 3000GT. I'm having trouble solving some idling issues, so, I've been doing quite a bit of research, and having headaches. I basically just wanted to register here so I could thank whoever it was who suggested purchasing the OBDII cable from the Chinese. I just ordered it and I feel better already. I can't quite say that I've solved anything, but I just thought I'd say "Thanks! Awesome!" or something the like. Also, I appreciated the welcome video. I usually prefer British things to American, but in this case I believe the American video was superior. In some ways. Not exactly superior. I just liked it better. Maybe because I watched it first... sentence fragment... sentence fragment.
Alright, so, in 15 minutes, I suppose I shall be able to thank whoever it was who suggested the modified OBDII cable from China, because that seems like a very good first step. $12 is a reasonable purchase in most cases, except when purchasing packs of cigarettes, in which case $12 is a bit much for two packs, and even doubly unreasonable for one. End spiel.
