The location of the straight isn't the issue as much as the sweeping turn that is part of the high speed oval. If you run in reverse the oval will turn right instead of left.
No worries Dave, we will point you to all the fun spots. I sent Lori a decent list of spots already and after sending it I thought about all the ones I forgot to include.
Edit:
And the word Free was included in many of the site descriptions, so there is plenty to do on a restricted budget.
Ng 2013 hype!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know I was teasing Chris. We had enough spun bearings at Indy. No thanks
Alrighty this time I'm going even if my car isn't running since it's in my state lol.
so far. I can't afford another 4 hours added to my trip. Le sigh.

Party at my house.
Hopefully the band isn't on tour that week. Might be the next week we head out. Here's hopin.
Ha! I knew it. Thanks Lori, Von and Levi.
Looking forward to it
The whole NE towing crew could meet in columbus to stay the night. Its 8hrs to STL from there and we could all caravan from there out.
Jason
Actually, let me correct myself. It would be 4 days of driving and $800 in gas. That just isn't going to happen. I enjoy the event, but that drive is just to far for most of the people on the east coast. I'm a die hard 3/s gathering guy and I just can't see doing that. Not after it being far away from us year after year.
Is it weird that the prospect of bringing my car sounds like a massive stressful PITA and I'd almost rather just fly to STL?
How do you guys that suffer unexpected failures get your cars home?
I'll be bringing the talon if It's welcome :) I'm so JAG led about this I sent atleast ten people message

ive never towed! :D st louis is 1100 miles from me.. thats a lot of time away from here which is hard. ill try to go.. it will be nice to visit my st louis peeps! :) if my car breaks ill be using Bill/Vons area for repairs lol
Mikes talking about going with me this year. :)
Yeah, 4 hours ontop of what was a 12 hour trip is mind boggling. Maybe I'm just getting old. 16 hours. No thanks!
i am super pumped about STL! i am planning to go, but with just graduating college right then, and potentially starting a new job, i can only hope i have some time to go! i think i will, but ya never know.
i just hope my car is running correctly by then, even if its not there :p
Drive or trailer... hrmm decisions. Should those of us considering driving to STL break something at NG is there a shop willing to sponsor for repair facility?
If anyone needs anything just let me know. I haz a spare bedroom ;)
I've always towed my car to the NG, this past one was the first year I didn't and running all the events was a bit stressful but worth it in the end.
I've been wanting to fly or take the DD to gatherings more and more (guess i'm getting old)...came pretty close to BRG but I can never do it. This trip might actually push me over the edge in doing that but I know at the start of the first event I'm going to regret it.
Nate drove all the way from Washington state to NG12 and ran all the events.
I bet he'll be back for NG13.
Ask Nate what he'd think if he only had a 16 hour drive ;)
I would do 16 hours in one day gladly vs. 3-4.
Just show up no matter what, that's my thought on it from now on.
Does uhaul or anyone rent car trailers? I just fear that the one I normally use for a day or 2 won't be available for me to use for a ~week. I hate that I've never been to one of these.
Yes you rent truck and car trailer
