might make it regardless. as long as i dont piss my wife off its all good. with 3 younguns she wouldnt be able to make it.

Granny, my wife's 91 AT AWD TSI starter just crapped out, is there an easy way to pull it? I've only seen a handful of starters mounted above the center line of the crank.

What do you think said car with adjustable KYBs, tein springs, energy suspension bushings all the way around, 17" wheels tucked in tight (had to roll the front inner lip just a bit) barely clears the struts, auto awd trans, and every option minus a sunroof, is worth? The engine is all factory, runs good, needs valve stem seals (puffs on initial start after sitting a few days), leaks oil here n there. Trans shifts good, new OD clutch pack 30k ago. The interior is out for refinishing, (converting to black) has new speakers all the way around, clarion CD player. Chassis is straight, has odd dents here n there, paint is trash. Has complete factory TSI moldings/spoiler. Color is the dime a dozen red w/black top.

You can probably get to it my removing the battery and IC piping. Then remove the down pipe and drop it from underneath the car.

Helps alot, my FSM is a bit vauge about the starter. I could only find mention of it in the trans removal section.

I'm at the point where I am ready to sell the car, running or for parts. Sad because I was committed to finishing the car.

I'm here, Would really like to get to know the TN 3\S community, I have a few 3\s friends that I see at local meets but none of them ever bring out there cars or they aren't drivable, and they aren't all that hardcore about 3\s's either...

Cause factory presents cars for the cure/drift tober fest at Nashville super speed way. Bring cash for gate. Will be a drift event, car show with awards and a mobile dyno. 60$ a run. This Saturday 10/22/11 9-5. Or when everyone goes home. Will be like mini import alliance

I have to flip the clamps on the MAS.
I have moved them 3 times...lol
I'm sure the owner won't give it a second though but I wrench on everything as if it was mine and I don't like those bolts sticking up.

sweet! can you tell me where I can get an AWD auto turbo 1g starter? Autostoned couldn't find it, the turbo awd auto does not exist in their computer. From what I've read, it has a unique starter due to being auto and turbo. (has a weird flywheel size/tooth count) I'm probably wrong, but I do know the N/A auto FWD starter that looks identical (slight p/n difference) didn't work today. It barely engages the flywheel, it did manage to catch and start the engine 4 times. After I let the car warm up, it would not re-engage the flywheel.

yea, this one has kicked my ass. DSM peeps aren't very helpful on their forums. I get conflicting information on every sight. I think there was a p/n on the starter case, but it wasn't a standard mitsu number even though it was a mitsu part. Autostoned has it now, so I don't know, mistake on my part....

the event saturday was awesome...only 1 other 3000GT tho, a few 3\s owners were there but they were down or just didn't bring there car for whatever reason... Never dyno'd unfortunetly. Spent too much time in the pits grabbin rides with people.....
