I have two of them sitting on top of my tool box that have yet to be installed... I have the cluster finished for mine, it looks pretty cool, but I haven't gotten around to actually installing it in the car yet. The other is for a customer, and his motor and trans are still scattered about the shop, so no hurry there. I have another customer whom I talked into buying one, he installed it himself and loves it.
Has he mentioned any draw backs, or concerns?
P.S. Are you going to NG?
I've only talked to him once since he installed it, but as far as I know, no issues at all... I'll make a point of asking him, I should hear from him tomorrow...
Don't think I'll be making N.G. this year...

It works very well. It has been in the car for about 2 months now. But I have not hooked up the boost controller yet. Install was not all that hard. I don't think I will go without one agine.
Here's a pick of mine when I just finished installing it. I've had it for 4 months now and love it. There is an update he gave me for it that I have yet to install because I'm so lazy, but the only thing I would suggest is for it to datalog and be able to export to a laptop.

Nice to see a photograph of the LCD in blue color (as my camera didn't take good pics of that color).
I've been watching this thread for a while, very cool! I agree, the only thing that this seems to be missing is a way to export data. This is a great solution for somebody like me; I rarely drive without my laptop logging what's going on.

How well does this control boost? Easy to dial out spikes while still holding target psi through revs? Has it been tested on larger than stock turbos?
Very interested. I want to ditch my mbc with my car's resurrection and love the idea of having the knock and afr warnings.

No datalogger yet, I don't know how frequently he works on it, and he is the only one that works on it so it may be a while. I'll email him and ask if he can incorporate it.
The interface for the boost controller is almost identical to the profec b spec 2, and I think it works pretty well. I've got bigger turbos, but i havent maxed them or anything yet, but it definitely does work on them.
Doesn't the Serial out allow you to plug in your logger?
I'm not sure if I missed this thread before or I just meant to come back and check it out later but this thing is very cool.
The serial datalogging port is for interfacing a dataloging cable to it, so the unit can read ECU information. The unit can display the ECU datalog information to the screen, but not export it.
Having had a greddy profec B spec II boost controller, I used the familiar duty cycle approach for controlling boost. Higher the duty cycle, higher the boost. On my car, I had problems with boost falling off 2psi at high RPMS, so added a feature to fix this problem. I called it "Dutycycle offset", and at 4000, 4500, 5000, 5500, etc... RPM intervals you can add additional duty cycle to compensate this common problem, giving you a linear boost all the way across.
Another advance boost control feature is to temporarily reduce boost when your engine is knocking. This is user definable, you control how much duty cycle is reduced when knock is present.
I use this boost controller to regulate boost at 18psi for my 15G class turbos.
Will the greddy solenoid work with this?
The reducing boost because of knock feature is really great, something all boost controllers should have.

The greddy boost solenoid should work because it's very similar to the AEM/mac valve solenoid.
To export datalog information would require additional hardware. I could make a daughtercard that sits in between the microprocessor and the socket to add new capabilities, I'm just flirting with the idea on how to go about it.

Can I ask if there is something in the way to prevent centering the gauge with the rpm writing?
I want this as well, but am doing other more important things and want to wait for logging output capabilities...
You could move it over a little more, but the actual screen is bigger then the bit you can see, the electronics of it that is.
Sidenote: Antero I think you should make a little positioning template so the screen can be properly aligned instead of having to measure a whole bunch and still miss. (Like I did, but not by a noticeable amount.)
There's a piece of clear plastic in the way that would have to be grinded down or cut to center it properly. This clear plastic is responsible for distributing the light evenly. I did have it centered on my first attempt, but it takes more effort to do that. On my second attempt I got lazy and left the clear plastic alone, which is why it's not centered. So yes, it can be done, but more work.
this has got to be one of the best things made for our cars.

The OBD1 I implemented is "Mitsubishi OBD1" such as Stealth/3000GT/Talon/Eclipse/Laser/Galant/etc. Other OBD1 can only be added in if I had documentation for it.
AEM EMS - Same thing, need documentation. I made a serial port sniffer, just need an AEM EMS to play with.

Where is the boost controller knob located? The one mentioned in the beginning of the thread
The knob is on a wire, you have to be creative on where you want to locate yours. Perhaps 2nd generation cars with an unused popup headlight button could locate theirs there. On my 1st generation car mine is located near the cruise control switch. My neighbor installed his knob and display on an unused radio slot.
