if "they" means Subaru then of course they're going to say that :lol:Quote:

And I'm sure I'll catch shit for saying it, but I like the Ford Fusion/Mercury Milan. Comfortable, enough pep to suit for a DD, four door, decent fuel economy and they're not terribly expensive. While not in the realm of some of the other cars you want, I would much rather get something towards the lower end of the price scale where somebody else has eaten most of the depreciation on the car and spend about 10-15k myself. Pay it off within 2-3 years to build credit, insurance generally is cheaper, and you can put aside money for a bigger downpayment towards a more expensive toy down the road.
I'm with you serge. I love the Fusion.

I agree, the new Fusion looks great!
I wish Ford would sell the Falcon over here.

FRS/BRZ. You have a VR-4. You won't care about the FR-S being slow because you're not replacing the VR-4.
Jim, if you buy an SLK AMG, I want a thread & ISP-crushing high-rez pics.Quote:

I hear the same thing about the brz/frs debate. Slow, but fun. I want something a little more... Professional looking I guess. That's the only thing stopping me on those cars. As well as depreciation value and stuff.
I won't be buying a new car. No way.
I saw a g8 today and thought about that. I would prefer to stay away from 4 doors, but that's one of the cars I would make an exception to. On a similar note, I have thought about one of the older cuts-v coupes... those are nice.
I'll check in with what the credit union says after the week after next. Lots of factors to weigh, but I will be making a move towards good credit in one way or another!
Thanks for all of the responses guys!

lol, that would take a solid 50 grand to build. no thank you! they are neat little cars though, and that was a cool video!
you'd think toyota could put out a sports car priced somewhere between $25,000 and $500,000....
I'd personally stay away from GM. I own one and will probably never again, unless I get a Vette.
If I get this job I am interviewing for tomorrow I am going to double down on payments on the Grand Prix to get rid of it faster then I am probably looking into an AWD G37 Coupe.
vettes aren't that great...finish wise. fast as hell, but years of reviews saying that everything from the c4 to the c6 has a "cheap interior" really speaks to the brand. they are piss easy to maintain though. every 2 bit mechanic knows how to work on a SBC.
The interior is definitely an issue in anything C5 and prior. Reviews I read said the C6 interior, while still not great, was way ahead of the C5.
Interior look and feel is a big thing to me. I hated the stock tan interior in my Stealth. That is why I swapped the charcoal interior in and why I swapped the black leather in. Hell there was a car the dealership was trying to put me in when I bought my Grand Prix that I wouldn't even consider because of the tan interior. Interior look is why I didn't save a few grand and get a 97-03 Grand Prix instead of the 07. The interior in those look like they belong in a 85 Cavalier.
When I'm going fast on the track the last thing I'm thinking is, "Gee I hope people don't make fun of my cheap interior"Quote:

Fair enough, now I know you said "no SUV" but trust me when I say these things do NOT drive like an SUV :wink:Quote:

Stretched SUCKS!
yes please one the SRT8 jeep! but that will be a toy later in life when i have a family. for now, no thanks :D
NO THANK YOU on that G8. yuck.
E46 M3's are pretty damn cheap now. Very very fun to drive, pretty damn reliable. Very good looking, come in with lower miles at BRZ pricing.
Looked into them?
Jason
The Jeep SRT8 is one cool ass SUV. I wouldn't mind one for a DD.
That G8...just no.
BMW M3 Coupe | eBay
That one would match the VR4 nicely:)
Jason
jason, i considered the e46 but i really like those twin turbo beamers. i had a buddy take me on a ride in his and i loved it.
i will be test driving next week, which should prove interesting
You'll like it until they break. High pressure fuel systems are huge money when they break. Thats "when" not "if" they break. If you have a warranty, its all good. But then you cant mod. The E46 is so much more lively compared to the 335's which are boats in comparison to how much more engaging the E46 chassis is.
Jason
TT cars don't even have an oil cooler....

The Jeep SRT8s are fun, comfortable, and definitely luxurious compared to what I think of a SUV as. I got to ride in Jared's head, cam, intake, exhaust, tune, supercharged SRT8 Jeep. For such a heavy beast even on premium that was a low to mid 11 sec SUV. Definitely more of a riot vs a Trailblazer SS. If I had the cash and didn't need to commute a long distance I would get one but I'm with you in that it'd be a toy down the road. :D
Hmmmmmm, that might be an idea for me if I get this new job. Only a 4 mile drive. :suspect:
-----personally I'd toss my duckets along with Jason on an e46, or a newer TT bmw 3 series
also, newer Lexus IS300/350 isn't too bad. It's toyota's latest answer in market to an bmw 3 series.
also runs an NA 2jz thats a hop skip and jump to what supra's run.
Infiniti g35 is also kind of in that ball park of a luxury sports coupe
Not as classy as the aforementioned and it carries a stigma to some---- but a 2011+ mustang GT with trackpack is a performance bargain for a daily.
For literally 30k you can leave the showroom floor with a new one with the aforementioned option and it will cut corners just as well as the e90 M3. Damn impressive for the money.
True but if you're paying over 20k for the car it should have a decent interior imo..Quote:
