Ducting

Looks nice. I think many people underestimate the importance of proper ducting on our cars.
Transmission is all built and shimmed. I also received my carbon fiber combat wing from c7 (still working out some issues with them). Tonight, I decided to reseal my oil pan. When I pulled it off, I thought I saw big metal chunks at the bottom, but it just turned out to be some grey silicone. After I got over that almost heart attack I decided to inspect the bearings while I had the pan off. My worse fear was then realized as some of the rods would move, and some had zero play. After pulling 2 caps - a loose one and a tight one - I found the tight one to be worn significantly more than the loose cap and was now blue in some spots from heat. It does not look like my crank is damaged, but I will pull it out and bring it to a machine shop because it will be done right this go around. I wish I had the knowledge about cars when I was 16 that I do now; then I wouldn't be in this situation.
So now it's time for forced upgrades and building the engine earlier than I expected. Just ordered ninja performance rods while they were still on sale and I should be picking up everything else within the next month or so
New rods from Ninja Performance!

Looking good!
Nice, looking good! Don't see that many all out builds anymore.
Out of curiosity, what oil cooler did you get with Maximal's kit?
Sent from my RM-820_nam_att_100 using Board Express
It's a setrab core and maximal lines.. I was researching for a while before I got this kit and I was going to build my own using a setrab core, but maximal came out with this right before I was going to buy the stuff to do it.
Updated the first 2 lists. The parts needed list is getting smaller!! :)
Got my brand new forged crank in the mail along with an oem gasket set, a1 head studs, and some other good things.. Ordering bearings, new oil squirters, and arp main studs on Friday then the block and parts are going to the machine shop.
Sorry if I missed this but what are you using for wrist pins?
I've got a set of squirters I can sell.
Yes new from Cherry Hill. PM if interested
Gates racing timing belt and ninja performance solid tensioner kit in the mail. Going to be purchasing a new water pump and oil pump soon as well. My shortblock should be coming back from the shop soon so then engine can go together when it gets back.
It's been almost a year that my car has been parked but it's down hill from here now.
I updated the first two posts again.
If anyone is still following:
I have a rps max 6 puck clutch on the way along with ips turbo manifold flanges. I decided to go with a gt4202 with a sound performance quick spool valve. I'll be getting that as soon as I buy some heads so that we can fabricate the kit and exhaust. I'm trying to get some dr stage 3 heads and some midrange camshafts to help spool out. I think with all that I can get it spooled around 4000-4500 without nitrous and get me somewhere in the 800s
I also have some billet oil pump gears from boostaddict that were checked and in spec.
Sweet!
Keep it up man
Keep it up (need moar pics...)
Here's all my boxes of engine parts

I'm just waiting to get a good block to put all this stuff in. After that I need to get my rx7 together to sell it and get a set of dr heads. Getting close now!
Update: this is what has been slowing me down the last couple months..

IPS/HKS Carbon Ti with 4" Titanium piping.
UPS says 18lbs. One of the only threads I found about this exhaust said it would weigh about 11 lbs with a JUN muffler. The HKS one is a little heavier so I would say it weighs around 11-16lbs.
Good luck to anyone that wants to get one of these. I believe they only made around 10 of these in 4 inch, if that many. This one certainly will not be on the market ever again. I've been searching for one of these or an ICH 4" system and I've only seen one or 2 of each for sale since 2008.
You're gonna love the sound of the carbon ti. Super quiet on the highway, very mellow sound when you get on it.
Lets you really hear the turbos spool up

Shipping my heads and cams to IPS on Monday for their race treatment and 272 cams.
My IPS head treatment was one of the best mods I have done to mine. 1mm over sized or 2mm? You mention race so I assume 2.
