Maybe because they essentially turned the next version of Windows into a shitty tablet OS and crippled the normal desktop functionality to do so. I don't see what the obsession with tablets is in the first place, so maybe I'm just weird.

right because they aren't going to make that easy for the full release. Geez, this is why companies don't like releasing betas.
I don't expect 8 to be perfect anyway. Pretty much every other version of windows has growing pains. It is necessary for progress.
The public perceptions is going to be bad for 8 no matter what, just like it was for Vista. 7 is a savior when on a computer that is already setup they both run similar enough normal people can't tell the difference.
Windows 9 will come out and they will have everything ironed out. I'd rather see this than no progress at all, but you are free to go back and run XP if you want to.
