I have a tab open from there, but I have 4 open here, so I guess I am part of both. There is still a lot of good info there and seems some people have not made it here yet
I respond less and less over there and more on here because a lot of the new threads or ones brought over are here. It's easier to comment here and more people that need the help will be here. I keep going back to the other site to search old threads and whatnot occasionally looking at new posts. Until most of the information is transferred over to here I won't be able to drop the other forum. I wish there was a way you could download the whole forum database and integrate it into here.
Need the vendors to help promote the site. Pretty much vendors need to replace 3si with 3sgto where ever they advertise it.
Vendors make the difference. Autoforums knows this and is gambling on that fact.
It's going to take some time, but we will get the info over here. But we will also need to come up with some new substance to really draw the crowd over.
autoforums likes to lie about their online members... they even say things like maximum 1600 users ever online?
It make their stats look good to advertisers and people looking for info.
you can go to forums where they have no posts and no members and somehow they have 150 guests looking at nothing on their crappy forums... its obviously "fudged"
The guests are not "fudged" but on average 1/2 of them are search engines
Even so, there are substantial reasons for people to continue to visit 3si just to view threads, most noticeably with cars wanted/cars for sale.
It's going to take some time to curb the visits to 3si. We can't expect everyone to drop their visits on a dime, particularly if they still have ongoing business over there (partouts and the like).
