I wasn't the one who installed the engine or anything. i got the car and the harness was all kinds of torn up. so best option was just wire it the guy started partially wiring it. and i wasn't aware it was as simple as popping the CAS into it. maybe i'll revert back to it...things i was reading made it seem like only option was to rewire it.
-
The only people who HAVE to do a rewire are those putting a 91-92 engine into a 93+. The 91-92 CAS will pop into any of the 91-99 DOHC engines.
-
I was not aware. I'll try it when i get home from alabama and see if that makes a difference. I did remember today i had a CEL that came on randomly twice since i had the car, and then randomly went away.

I started on putting the original CAS back in yesterday when it hit me that The camshaft probably does not have the the slot in it for the CAS since the motor is a 93, I have a cam out of a 92 but I really don't feel like taring my whole motor apart, Mainly doing the timing, That shit sucked I don't want to do that till I have cams and a Kevlar belt.
-
As said again. The 91-92 CAS will pop right into any 93-99 DOHC 6G72. No modification needed.
Also a kevlar belt is a huge waste of money. 99.9% of the time the belts don't break and when they do its something else that failed that caused the belt to break and you are still fucked.

I really don't want tare my engine apart to find out your wrong, I'm pretty sure I gotta pull my rear valve cover to pop out that cam seal so i can stick the CAS in there. plus I'm not sure what happend to the Original CAS plug, I don't remember Cutting it. I need a wiring diagram; Can anyone share?
-
Listen, I have owned my 3s since you were in middle school. I have been around the forums for just as long. I have put a 93 engine into a 92 and have seen where others have done the same. I will repeat myself again,
THE 91-92 CAS WILL WORK IN ANY 91-99 DOHC 6G72.
-
I'll find out eventually. car's been running fine ever since i had a coupler slip off on me, i'm thinking it was partially off or something and it had a slight leak.
I really need to get a mount or something for it because what happened was the clamp slipped off a little on the bottom of the intake manifold and i couldn't see it, but it was allowing air in. I tightened it down good I'm sure last time but I did it extra this time.

Listen to Stealthy and use the 91 CAS in the spot that your current CAS is now. It may run ok now but the latency is a bad thing, your ignition timeing is currently off and gets worse the higher the RPMs are.

why the hell did people suggest the conversion in the first place? (not you guys) seriously doods
