Well I went skiing at boyne highlands with the family. It was my sister's boyfriend's first time snowboarding, and highlands is a nice easy hill. Wayyyy too easy for my taste. I heard Indianhead is nice though.

Stopped skiing at 16 when I wrecked my knees, so I never got to any of the hills in the west end - I haven't heard anything to indicate there are any challenging hills in the U.P.

I can think of a ton of other reasons to go to the Boyne/Traverse City area - one of my favorite places.
