Old join dates, or fresh new start?

While its not officially 3si it could be like the DSM talk DSM forum split from years ago. I can log into either, and access posts that are identical from years ago. After the split is where posts are different.

This probably isnt a viable option though.

I agree that 3si join dates have nothing to do with this site. What would be nice is to be able to have your join date as the date when you bought your first 3S. Isn't that truly when you became a member of the 3S family? You guys with the 1999 join dates would probably have an even earlier buy date.

I was kinda leaning more towards this idea (or something quite like it). And not so much a 'join date' but 'club member/owner date'...cos some folks liked and lurked before they ever signed up or signed up before they bought their first 3SGTO. KWIM?

I like the idea of the join date because when I see an early date, I kinda tend to shut up, pay some respect and listen a little more then a 2010 date who seems to know everything.

But even being from 2005, there isnt much competition :P I did like playing my "seniority" role with the newbs.

For my few years of haunting 3si i have come to learn who knows what. So the dates have never meant much to me. Just the names of the posters.

However the vain part of me would still like to keep my date :P
