There are too many damn choices in this forced induction world we live in. Maybe I'll do a VR4 to SL conversion to ease my mind. Anyone have a write up on AWD to FWD conversion for our cars? :lol7:

keep it awd just put a n/a in it and u have awd nonturbo
<3 my HKS's. I am going to sneak my laptop in the car this year for some logging to see IAT's while on the road course. Will be able to get a better idea how well they work then.
my $.02
overheating is easily solved by getting a bigger radiator. the 3sx single-core is a MASSIVE radiator (especially compared to the n/a mtx one). imho, i think most of the people who complain about overheating are probably using the n/a mtx radiator--with or without an FMIC). even if they're not, it could be that their radiator is so old and non-functioning that it's not doing the proper job.
i don't really have a whole lot of input on the FMIC vs. SMIC argument. i've only run stock smics & 9b's in my car. if i were going to put MASSIVE smics in; i would definitely look to run a front-mount oil/trans cooler. as it stand now, i plan to run FMIC and put those in the stock SMIC locations.
p.s.
according to what chatz has told me, you can run the SSM 4" FMIC kit without modifying/removing the stock crash bar. that's what sold me on his kit. 36x12x4" thick FMIC has MUCH more surface area than 8x8x4.5" SMICS. 1728 vs. 576, if my math is correct. again though...this is all my OPINION.
Ah and I forgot to mention that I didn't have to cut my crash bar for the dual core and I don't believe the cx kit requires cutting either. I personally went dual core because it made more sense to let the air flow through the entire core utilizing all of the space rather than some front mounts that don't take advantage of it all. The more chance the air has to dissipate heat the better :)
I'm in the middle of getting Bell to ship me a 10x12x6" core to see if it'll in anyway fit SMIC :)
why the hell not.
I prefer the idea of larger SMIC's. The heat is dissipated completely away from the core(s) instead onto your radiator and engine bay. It just makes more sense. I think about it a lot while sitting in thermodynamics class :p
I can think of a lot of ways to increase the efficiency of the SMIC location...without it costing the earth....not as many for FMIC.
I have some diagrams :p
I've got the 3sx single-core radiator installed. The wifey wants me to get an FMIC with a 99 front bumper conversion. She prefers single core, but I am leaning towards dual core since it sounds like it flows better.
My other option is to keep the stock front 1st gen and put on dejon SMICs. However, she will make fun of me everyday about how old and ugly the 1st gen fronts are.
