Tubular Crossmembers!?

JFast I believe did it as well. It was in a thread here, but removed when he left.

Engine plate saves tons of weight and room.

I know the 4g conversion guy on here replaced the front member that supports the engine, but not sure I would want that with a heavy 6g72 engine + the torque it makes... Idk if tubular would be good for that.

I jack up the whole car from my tubular crossmember. Doubt your car makes that much tq;)

You plan on selling those? And do you have north/south bars too?

Not planning on selling crossmembers (don't have a 6g to mock up on). I am making 4g swap mounts which is comprised of driver side mount and rear roll stop.

I'm not running north south but did cut off the back portion of stock bats to box in subframe. All 4 engine mounts are solid and I have poly subframe bushings. Engine/trans acts as north south since everything is solid mounted. Not ideal since it's connected in center instead of each side like the two north south bars but the poly mounts really tightened everything up.

Alright sounds good. Well, may have to leave it to someone to fab it for me here locally then.

What dimension did you use on tubing for the big front bar/crossmember?

IIRC it's 1 5/8". Chromoly.

and wall thickness?

I used 1-5/8 OD .120 wall 1020 DOM for my build
