The physics of the cross sectional area cannot be disputed however it is also a fact that EVOs make a ton of power through those Mafs. My personal experience is a gain of around 30-50whp in moving from stock maf to a 399 evo maf depending on whether I run a 91 octane map or a 100 octane map. That said, I've had the 3.75 + MAF-T kit for some time now and ready to drop it in along with Oohnoo's large SMIC. Both stock and Evo mafs are significant restrictions above 450whp.

So just to let you know,
Two days ago I switched from the stock to the EVO Maf. Just with the intake adjustments on Chrome I did not notice any difference. If any, the spool up is maybe a little slower now, but this is just my personal feeling, I have no log data for that. Other than that the car runs the same as with the stock MAF.

Assuming you calibrated it correctly in Chrome you wouldn't notice a difference right away. The difference is seen only when the car is pushed to the knock limit. I was able to push 30-50 whp further with the Evo maf. You would have to increase your boost or timing to see the difference.

I can see your point that the more accurate flow metering of the 8 maf can allow more accurate ignition maps (on the limit of knock).
For me, running 2 bar of boost in blowthrough the restriction would outweigh any gain really.
I love the idea of the Karman Hz Maf and if there was a way to make 2 work (1 per turbo inlet) I would deffinitely try it (looked long and hard at combining 2 signals but came to a dead end).
Look at the 300zx and GTR, 2 mafs..
