agreed, what is this spring that you speak of?

Have you guys ever done a brake job before haha? Its a spring in the back of the caliper.

edit: And I dont know why anyone would leave it off.

It's the pad retaining/spacer spring. It's shaped like a cross on 2g rears. Cant remember the shape on 1st gen.

This is what I thought it was, I would call that a clip not a spring. And I agree, why would you omit that?
