I don't know if I have ever screwed mine back in.....LOL!!
I take it in/out so much it's just easier to leave it un-screwed.

I know I will need to pull it one more time. I have been testing the Tach circuit in the car.
"-" from dash to "-" to battery (continuity)
"+" from dash to "+" to plug behind dash behind passenger air vent (continuity)
So now I get to tear into the pre & post turbo pluming access the PTO and test "+" to "Tacho" of the PTU. I am so praying it is a faulty PTU. The instrument cluster tested fine in another car.
more like what I did last night. I found out I can remove the front sway bar easily without removing either of the control arms, just came right out.
Started a 60K timing belt maintenance on my 93 TT, pulled the tranny so once the 60k is done I can swap in a rebuilt 25 spline. I also re-organized all the parts on the shelf for my 94 in anticipation of it coming back from paint :)
