What did you do today to your 3/S?

I got my front passenger strut swapped out as it had a broken wire in the strut so the ECS was no longer working. I also got my wiring issue resolved for my Renegade Techworks ECS controller so I now have my full suspension controls back and working. I need to top off the trans fluid now since I had a spill accident with the front half shaft coming out of the trans and leaking fluid all over the floor when swapping the strut out.

I also got my Skillard Fuel channel installed so no more saggy plastic crap hanging underneath the car.

Now I just need to figure out the spark issue as to why I am getting spark blowout when I boost over 7-8 psi.

I need that fuel cover thingy. Was it very difficult to fit? Think it will fit some fairly large steel braided lines?

Also, obvious question for spark, what gap are your plugs?

There is room for SS lines. Skillard closed up shop though, don't know how hard it will be to get a hold of a fuel channel. Mine fit pretty good. Quality was top notch.

Got a bit of work done this morning and was feeling okay, but feel like my head and sinuses are being smashed in by a sledge hammer. Not getting much done today I don't suspect.

Skillard said that a while ago so i hurried and bought a splitter. then he came back a few months later with a fresh batch...

It bolted right up without any issues. Now I did notice that the holes he drilled are a little large so when you mount it best to add washers before the nuts to prevent the nut going though the hole when you tighten it down.

I run a -6an line from my tank and there is still plenty or room to run another one if need be.

Plugs are at 28. I don't think it's a plug issue, I think my coil pack is just showing it's age finally. I need to pull it and run some tests on it to be sure.

Have you pulled the plugs to see which ones are black?

Plugs all looked fine. Normal grayish color. Only happens when I try to boost over 7-8 PSI.

Looks great and comfy. Did you get a local shop to do it? I need to do this badly

They are super comfy. Alcantara center feels nice but its kinda hard to slide out of haha. Costed $300 to get them installed.

I found a place that can sand and respray the minor damage on my 97. I can also get the panel replaced that's damaged. If I ever did seats again I'd have a shop do them, not sure who would in my area of michigan.

Test fit the 2012 EVO X steering wheel on my 97, perfect fit no mods needed.

I'd be more concerned with the SRS system and if the airbag is compatible. Any info there?

Talked to Jeff Secrease about refinishing glass lenses for headlights and fog lights and he directed me to here : DIY: Fog Light Sanding/Refinishing with Pics - BMW M5 Forum and M6 Forums . Before I tried this on my 93 glass fog lights / 94 glass headlights I tried it on one of my spare 94 glass fogs. I am still waiting on cerium oxide to finish up polishing the lens, but they look damn good after running through 60-1000 grit. Took a little less than an hour to it to get it where it is. Going to Lamin-x them then sell them if any one is interested.

cerium oxide is good stuff, just be sure it stays wet. if it drys it will clump and scratch the glass. Also be sure that the glass stays cool. Just beware though that cerium oxide removes layers of the glass, same as sanding. so it does change the focal point on the lens. though it will not be noticeable on something like a lens, it was very noticeable when I used cerium oxide to polish out a scratch in a windshield once....:(

Thanks. I was very careful sanding it. It came out a lot better than I expected. I was able to keep the glass relatively cool the entire time. I started wet sanding at 400 grit. I've got a felt pad from work and 2oz of cerium oxide coming tomorrow! Lamin-X ordered as well for these lenses and my 1G fog lenses.

Well, someone rear ended one of our cars this morning. We got insurance information from the lady who did it, however just one more headache to deal with. Car is a 2014 Chevy Sonic, it dented in the corner of the rear bumper (which I could pop out) and cracked the plastic (which I'm not going to fix) as well as knocking the tail light askew (not sure if it bolts to the bump or if there was damage to the metal underneath it all.) Obviously going to try to get insurance to take care of it all, but I'm expecting it'll be a hassle.

On the bright side, should be picking up my trans and a few other parts early next week. Trying to narrow down the list of stuff I have left to get to have it running, or at least just movable. Lease runs out here the end of June, probably going to look to move elsewhere with a bigger garage and less neighbors right on top of us (so I can actually do work even when it's early or late.)

To get that far and not have to undo it, I need to install front and rear poly bushings, AWS delete and get new brake lines from prop valve to rear brakes. Realistically, may just put it together enough to roll it onto a trailer and call it good. I don't think I want to try to trailer it with it riding on it's little cart :p

For a dozen or so hardened nuts and bolts to put this stuff back together, may be the easiest route to go.

Of course, the question for the hardline is if it's cheaper to buy new OEM ones, or to just make replacements out of PTFE -3 line. Haven't looked up the part numbers or price for any of it.

I did what i usually do....nothing!

I am absolutely going to do very important stuff this weekend and I cannot wait! Building cars is a blast with the right mentality (I.E. knowing that its a long process and can take my time rather than trying to get it done as quickly as possible.

I wouldn't do PTFE for the rear lines. Too long IMO. I know that if a safety inspector wanted to be a dick he could fail you for soft lines being that long. Just get some SS or Copper Nickle hard line and make your own.

All will when I get the clock spring. But I'm installing a full EVO X MMCS Nav with amp, sat radio and blue tooth. Using a Toyota rear mirror with compass and microphone built in. The Steering controls for radio are different than the stock controls for the 3S. I already had the full system working on the bench since December 2014. I'm going to mod the air bag to work even though I could just use the 2005 or older bag that would fit that's single stage.

I got my hands on a full set of harnesses and the 815 watt rockford system from a 2012 EVO X. Once I'm done with this I might install the keyless start and door system from the EVO as well. I already have it working but I won't do t if I can't make it look OEM clean.

Now for the people that are going to bitch about me doing this. The statements like why not buy a pioneer or kenwood etc. I don't want aftermarket stuff that looks out of place. My goals are not your goals, and I don't care to hear about how you wouldn't do this. It's just what I want a slightly upgraded look that fits.

Sounds pretty sweet. Be interested to know how it all works out.

Raced a 2014 Mustang GT with exhaust/cams. It was close but I edged him out. I hit a peak boost of 17.5psi. I need to get my ignition amp working or replace it.

I'm just debating if I want to take it to the drag strip before NG and risk breaking something or just wait for the NG.

Take it, and don't set on kill till NG.

Didn't get much done today aside from some much needed cleaning of my parts room. Probably going to spend some time tomorrow working on getting everything set to true TDC and then degree from there.

I did that once with E85..My lawnmower ran 9s

I helped tune an AEM car today. Mostly I was able to richen up the car WOT. I have no idea why it was running in the 13s or for how long but it's safe now. I still have a ways to go to understand the AEM in entirety.

What's going on with your car? Haven't heard much about it since you smoked big td04 turbos. Did you get them replaced?

Removed the aftermarket stubby antenna from the red 97 vr4. Installed a new power antenna.

Prepped the engine to degree it, but have folks coming tonight for a small party. Road trip tomorrow and Tuesday. Looking forward to getting this project closer to completion.

I installed some 20T turbos and had no problems but was driving around on low boost working out some other bugs with the car. I went through and replaced the rear diff bushings, carrier bearings, driveshaft, clutch, and finishing up the transmission. I wanted to refresh everything and hit the track without any problems this time. I braced the end housing, was getting ready to weld in a bell housing brace, install the SCE center diff, and install the Quaife front but I've put that all on hold. I'm putting my car back together, tuning it to probably mid 20s boost to see where the power is, and selling some parts to make room for a 92 Stealth I'll be picking up. That'll be the one I keep and I'll slowly return my 95 back to stock. I wanted to get some numbers first. I may buy an AEM v2 for the 92 and sell the v1 that's on it. I definitely need to read up more on it and mess around with the software but it isn't as bad to use as I thought. I really love the live tuning feature which I miss with Chrome.

I "bought" a daily driver. It was my parents 03 Mazda 6i that they gave us but it needed new brakes and wheel bearings all the way around. 313K miles on it after the drive back to CO from KY and it still runs great.
