Big Eyes. 6/10.
Very different for a Tim Burton film but interesting story with excellent leads. I feel like it just sort of ended and lacked a lot of substance that could have made it top notch.

10/10
Would watch again. This movie has to be so under rated. I laughed soooo much during this film. Maybe it was because of the hockey, maybe it was because I felt like I could be that character in the movie itself. Whatever it was, wow. Very funny. I think I will watch it again when I get home.
Ender's Game 6.5
I liked it! for the most part except the very end, they screwed that up a bit but I get it.
Boyhood: 8/10. Cool idea, great execution, but the story / plot left something to be desired. If you can't identify with any of the leading characters, it'll be hard to connect to it. If you can, I imagine it would be fantastic.
Is that the one that took like 12 years to film?

Yeah, it's pretty cool in that it shows the same people actually growing old.
Interstellar, solid 8+ out of 10
Saw it tonight, I liked it! Wasn't overly crazy about it but all and all it was very entertaining. I want to see it again. A few things I think should be done different or at least explained better.
Just saw Lucy, if I could give negative points I would. What's that? I can give negative points? OK! I give it - eleventy billion!
It's so bad on so many different levels. It's like, if bad movies were a video game, this movie would definitely be the boss of one of the middle levels. I'm not sure which level. It's better than Torque, but worse than Gravity. So it's probably the boss of like ... level 6. You know that level where you got past the first few and are like HAH this game is easy I'm the MASTER and then WHAM level 6 happens and you're like HUH?!? What kind of a sado-masochist programmed this? Did I get a Beta release with some bugs in it? Is my controller going bad? WHAT THE FUCK?!?!??
The story is horrible, the acting is horrible, and the person who wrote it probably didn't graduate from high school. Wait ... Huh? Luc Besson also wrote and directed The Fifth Element AND Leon: The Professional? Shit. What the hell, Luc?!
Anyway, my advice is: don't watch this movie.
Maybe he wanted a movie with a character named after him, and instead of being super obvious, he made the character female? LOL
Seen Lucy, and agree it was bad. However it could have been epic but for the cheesy directing, and holes left in the story. The concept of complete consciousness was horribly used.
Definitely, I agree and think it could have been AWESOME. SO much potential. Even had Morgan "Velvety, Velvety Vocal" Freeman in it. Probably part of why, out of all the flavors, I choose to be salty.
damn. well so much for scarjo being able to redeem any move with her presence alone...
*edit*
I'm reading some of these reviews on other sites, and I'm wondering of these same people HATED Prometheus. Because I loved it. Many people didn't like the ambiguity in it, but I thought it was just enough of a tie in not to give everything away, but to also give rise to serious debate. I don't know that Lucy does that...but now I'm curious about the reviewers.
I liked Lucy but I can see why some have a hate for it.
If you watch the trailers you are setup for a action flick with mental powers.
You get that for 1/3-1/2 of the movie.... Then it takes a left turn into something else. (leaving out details for anyone that has not seen it. ) I personally enjoyed that they did not follow the expected path and was happy with the story it told.
When I explained what the movie did I compared it to the ending of 2001. 2001 is a pretty straight up Sci-fi flick until the very end when it like they all went on an acid trip. Some people love the ending some hate it.
the interview
It became free to stream on Saturday, so we watched it. Plenty of Seth Rogan humor through out the film. I don't see why N Korea objected so much (rolls eyes).
It's on Netflix, and a host of other venues.

November Man
Basic retired agent vs the agent he trained style plot. I felt it was well done and engaging with a good plot.
Dawn of the planet of the Apes
Excellent movie. I loved the story and the effects. As a fan of the original apes movies am loving this reboot.
Dawn of the planet of the apes was very good.
Recently saw the Interview, was ok, nothing I would watch again.
Saw the new Hobbit cut ("There and Back Again"), well it was an earlier 4.5 hour long draft cut. It was very good and much closer to the book. Once the battle of the 5 armies comes out on Blu-Ray and this gets re-made into 1080p the whole way through, it'll be awesome.
not going to be watching this.

I think we've found out what happens when Hollywood runs out of new ideas and feminism scissor and make film babies.
1982 The Thing.
Great idea, great acting, great filming, great effects! Really shows the paranoia that humanity has over survival and dealing with the unknown.
2011 "The Thing"
The similarities were cool, it was the Pre story to what happened at the American camp in the 1982 movie. The creature effects were pretty good but not to the same level the original was at its time. Lead scientist douchebag elitist ruined everything for everyone just the same, lol.
I like some things about the 2011 movie. They went to a lot of work to match things that were seen in the original and because of that if feels like a good fit. Its a shame that they went All CGI on the creature effects. If they had most of it with practical the way it was done in the original it would have been killer.
The effects in the 2011 were filmed with real models then modified with cgi. Look up adi studios on youtube, they spent a LOT of time and have really good props for the creatures.
I havent seen the Thing 1982 or 2011, maybe I will check those out.
I see what you're saying. It was into our decade and the studio was probably yelling, "MOAR CG".
Watching LA Confidential right now. 10/10 I really think this is a solid movie top to bottom with great actors doing great jobs.
Don't think I ever heard of that Bobby.
Corey it's from the 90s and won a lot of awards
Just watched Home front, pretty good for the type of movie it was.
LOL, I checked Netflix for it, but no luck.
Personally I liked the 2014 Robocop. I liked the way they played out the man vs machine and people vs mega corporation themes.
