No, Tcase has to come off to drop the trans though.
Until I get my own garage and hopefully a lift too I'll have to deal with less than ideal conditions. I don't mind working while it's snowing but forget it if there's rain. I've done that too much secularly and because of a hobby. It's 36 degrees out today and I'm getting ready to solder in an ARC-2, fuel pump, BlackStealth's LCD boost controller, and MAC boost solenoid in the Stealth. At least this has been a very mild winter so I can't complain too much.
These cars are pretty tough too though. :p The crash bar definitely did it's job. As I was pulling it off the 93 VR-4 it snapped three different 12mm OEM bolts and jumped out at me because of the tension still in it. Only the front end got damaged. The rest of the car is intact from the wreck the previous owner had. It's a shame a lady wasn't paying attention and ran a red light but that's life. The whole front subframe surprising unbolted off with little effort despite being bent. The headlight buckets and radiator support were being a pain but I just went at it with a cut-off wheel and peeled it back like a banana. :) I wish the front end of our cars came off because it makes working on the engine a hell of a lot easier. :p
I worked on a few sets of turbos and for a change I got work on a set for my own car too lol. Started machining out a set of WRX comp covers to fit my TD04HL 19T's w/9 blade turbine shafts :).
Oh and we had some stickers come in so I put some on my car :)

Cool, always keeping tabs on the TD04 developments.
