Local city ordinance now requires 7' of room to pass a person riding a bike in the road. Not going to lie the thought has crossed my mind to wing open my door as one passes me sitting in traffic while yelling "7 feet asshole".

People really yell at you while passing you when you're sitting in traffic? What a shithead
No it was more of a joke. If I have to give them 7' to pass they should have to give me more room than zipping through within 1 foot of my car.
Ok, I was gonna say, like damn dude, you live near some real assholes. I hate that crap too. I'm always worried they'll make a mistake and plow into the side of my car and just ride off.
Certainly a different perspective in the USA. Dedicated bike-lanes/paths are a great idea--and I'm surprised that we still don't get on board with this in the USA. As far as passing in traffic, you should try living in countries where it's legal to middle-line ride on a 2-wheeled vehicle & pass everyone who is stopped.
This thing looks like a blast!
